Introduction

Job Search (the "App") explains here how we handle information when you use our Android app. By continuing to use the App you accept this Policy; otherwise please uninstall

Scope & sample content

This Policy covers processing through the Job Search app only—not unrelated websites, employers, or third-party services unless we say so. Demo job listings may be shown; connecting a backend, ATS, or sign-in provider may be subject to additional notices.

What we collect

You provide: profile fields (e.g. name, bio) and application details (e.g. contact, age or experience, education, notes) where those screens exist.

Device & technical: preferences (onboarding, theme, notifications) via Android DataStore; remote images from URLs you configure; normal network traffic (e.g. IP) as handled by carriers and hosts. Notifications: optional local alerts if you enable them and grant POST_NOTIFICATIONS where required—we don't need contacts or precise location for that.

Why we use data & legal bases

We use data to run the App, remember settings, show jobs and images, and support apply flows. We do not sell your personal information. We avoid solely automated decisions with legal/significant effects unless we notify you and meet legal requirements.

Where GDPR/UK GDPR–style laws apply, we rely on contract / pre-contract steps, legitimate interests (security, improvement—balanced with your rights), and consent where required (e.g. some notification permissions). You may withdraw consent where it applies.

Sharing, transfers & retention

We use providers as needed (e.g. image hosts, future analytics/crash tools, Google Play). They process data under their own terms. Cross-border transfers follow lawful safeguards where required. We disclose information when the law demands or to protect rights and safety.

Local data stays on your device until you clear app data, uninstall, or edit it in-app. Server-side retention is your responsibility if you add a backend.

Security

We apply reasonable measures for an app of this type, including Android's storage APIs. No method is perfectly secure—use a device lock and current OS updates.

Your rights

Where applicable you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability, and complain to a regulator. Much data lives on your device—adjust settings, edit profile, or clear app storage; contact us below for requests we must handle directly (we may verify identity).

Children & updates

The App is not for children below the consent age in your region; contact us if you believe we collected a child's data by mistake. We may update this Policy; the date at the top changes when we do—check it periodically.
