As you know, Web 3.0 is even termed as Semantic web. But what is the actual definition of Semantic Web?
Well, the term 'Semantic Web' was coined by Tim Berner Lee, is something that improves web technologies to provide a more efficient and easier way to generate, search, share, combine and connect data and information for distinct sources through search and analysis based on the ability to understand the meaning of words (semantic), rather than on keywords or numbers (syntax). Simply, web 3.0 in terms of Semantic Web is the third generation of the Web which in which the web can explain the relationship between things in such a way that makes humans and machines think and understand more identically.
Let's know what is Semantic Web from Tim Berner Lee's perspective.
He expressed,
“I have a dream for the Web [in which computers] become capable of analyzing all the data on the Web – the content, links, and transactions between people and computers. A “Semantic Web”, which makes this possible, has yet to emerge, but when it does, the day-to-day mechanisms of trade, bureaucracy, and our daily lives will be handled by machines talking to machines. The “intelligent agents” people have touted for ages will finally materialize.”
Indeed, semantic web along with artificial intelligence are the two fundamentals of the future of the internet which brings more meaningful experience for users by providing a layered, semantic database that software agents will make semantic search and process automatically, enhancing connectivity. For instance, the best example of the Semantic Web is Siri and Cortana, the voice recognition assistant for Apple devices and Microsoft Windows OS.
