HI today I went into intel driver & Support Assisant I waited for it to scan my dell laptop. Today it came up with a Graphics driver for my laptop. So I let it download first and then I pushed on the installation wizard. Then after the terms screen I pushed next. The next screen showed what the intel graphics intaller was going to install. It said it was going to install the graphics driver, intel command center. What I want to now is whether I should check the box to excute a clean install. Is it safe to do this I do not want to mess up my dell laptop.

In your case, my advise is not to check the "clean install" box. By doing this your currently installed driver will be uninstalled and you will loose the ability to roll back driver in case that the new one will not function correctly. You should be aware (this is also explained in the Detailed Description on the Driver Download page) , that this is Intel Generic Driver and you may loose all customization prepared by the OEM for your laptop. Therefore, it is advised to use graphics drivers from the OEM site.

After months of digging, through driver settings, trying different versions etc., I have found the main culprit of my laptop's wake issues. When adaptive-sync is enabled, the screen glitches and does not respond when you try to wake from sleep/hibernation. I have found a workaround, simply by writing some scripts to change to monitor refresh rate to a value such that adaptive-sync is disabled at that refresh rate. It is 60 Hz for my monitor, and 165 Hz is where adaptive-sync is enabled. The PC goes to sleep and wakes up perfectly. Then I wrote a script to change back to 165 Hz, but the screen started to glitch again. This time, the screen responds to my inputs and shows the image, but there are horizontal glitches which make it unusable unless I restart the Intel Graphics Driver (ctrl+shift+win+b combination does not fix the glitches, only disabling and re-enabling the intel gpu fix the screen). These horizontal glitches only occur AFTER the PC wakes from sleep (with 60 Hz) AND I change to 165 Hz.

Intel Graphics Drivers with WDDM 2.7 does not have this problem, though they have terrible adaptive-sync performance and many micro-stutters occur when using a WDDM 2.7 driver (which my laptop was shipped with).

I have reached out to my OEM provider and they said there's neither an Intel Graphics Driver, nor a BIOS driver that is newer than mine. So they can not fix this. They offered me to bring my laptop to their service, but I suspect they're going to do anything besides reverting my Intel graphics driver to WDDM 2.7.

Is it possible to fix this? I don't want to restart my graphics driver every time the PC wakes from sleep, as it crashes any programs that were using the Intel GPU. Please help me, I am really desperate at this point. If there are no complete fixes, I would be more than happy for a workaround that is less destructive than restarting the GPU drivers.

Please be aware that the WDDM version used is limited based on the specific OS installed. For example, Windows 10 is limited to WDDM 2.7, and Windows 11 is limited to 3.1. You can check in this article a table specifying the driver identifier and its WDDM version compatible with: Understanding the Intel Graphics Driver Version Number

In many laptops that also have AMD/NVIDIA graphics, the output from this graphics solution is routed out through the Intel graphics. To deliver support for this (switchable) configuration, the manufacturer had to develop a custom version of the intel HD Graphics driver that included the modification necessary. If your notebook is configured this way, you cannot use the generic Intel HD Graphics driver package; you must get a customized version from HP. If they don't provide one for Windows 10, you may be out of luck...

I have exactly the same problem with intel graphics hd 4000 except I get blue screen in the end saying stop code VIDEO TDR FAILURE what failed :igdkm64.sys and the only way I can use windows i need to go to safe mode and uninstall or disab the intel graphics hd 4000 driver so I can use windows normally HELP Please

It was working well until windows updated the Intel HD graphics automatically. using a secondary display I uninstalled the driver and as long as I prevent windows updates from updating the driver I can have a screen without being able to change the brightness or resolution. I also installed manufacturer's recommended driver which was for 2016 but it didn't help either.

I even installed Ubuntu OS just to make sure that the problem is caused by driver incompatibility with windows 10 and as I expected, everything was fine on Ubuntu and I could change screen resolution and brightness.

as you can see it says that I need version 31.0.101.3959 but that version is for the arc 770 i am playing on a gaming laptop with a i7-10750H and a 1660ti, please help because i updated my drivers for nividia but I don't what to do about the intel drivers and also f1 23 is the only game that has this problem

After an update about a month ago, I found I couldn't change the brightness on of my laptop screen. It was stuck on the brightest setting, regardless of changing the setting from the "power plan" settings or the general PC settings. The bar moves up and down but the screen doesn't change. I discovered others with this problem, and it said to update drivers. When I tried to do that, the screen ended up going black. I had to revert to Microsoft Basic Display Adapter just to use my laptop again. I still can't change the brightness.

I downloaded the drivers for the Intel HD 4000 graphics card and tried to install them, but partway through it said that it couldn't complete all the processes, and so therefore I can't fully update the drivers and cannot use my games.

I already tried that, and I've just tried it again now. It still doesn't work. It's stuck at "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter". When I install the driver software, it says it's successfully been installed, but when I reboot my computer, it either won't let me get past the log-in (it freezes on that screen) or it logs me in, but it still lists the MBDA as the current graphics device.

Yes, your notebook seems has just one Intel card. So you haven't need to go to BIOS (about how to reach it, -bios-on-toshiba-satellite-c55-a this, may be, will help). About Toshiba site, I meant _drivers_bios.jsp this.

I will greatly appreciate your help. I want to use Linux more, but like I said video drivers appear to be my biggest concern. I have also tried 12.04 on my desktop PC, but again failed to configure video card, so switched back to Windows 7.

The Intel graphics driver is part of the xserver-xorg-video-intel driver package, which is installed on all Ubuntu systems by default. And since it isn't a proprietary driver package, it doesn't show up in jockey (aka the Hardware Drivers application).

I have been dealing with the above named issue for a few weeks now and i don't know where the problem is. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the drivers again but still doesn't work. I have tried updating from windows update but still nothing. I have tried updating from manufactures site but still nothing. I have a Dell Latitude e5440. My only solution is to either disable or uninstall the Intel graphics driver. But then my machine runs on Microsoft basic driver when that happens and my Nvidia gpu is not detected from there on. So i need my Intel to work in order for my Nvidia to work properly. What i'm i missing?? Please help. I'm running out of my mind here!!

After about two months of digging throughout the internet for a definitive remedy, I realized no solution was working for me. Then I went back to my computer to study the installation logs. It is from there that I found the problem with black screen upon installing intel hd graphics drivers. Apparently, installation always stopped due to the computer's power plan/policy. It happens that the intel graphics driver won't work with the default Balanced Power Plan, which seems to be the default when installing Windows 10 1803. Therefore, to correct the black screen, I entered into Safe Mode and reinstalled the problematic intel graphics driver, then went to the Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options. Under the Balanced (recommended) option, I selected Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings, then expanding the 'Intel (R) Graphics Settings > Intel (R) Graphics Power Plan', I set both On battery and Plugged in to "Maximum Performance". Then I restarted my computer and voila! It worked. No black screen again.

My laptop is ASUS K501UX and when i Updated my driver to latest version [ 15.65.4.4944 ] The (fn Brightness Key) disabled suddenly but other fn keys working correctly. before this update everything is OK and Brightness key worked correctly.

While the brightness controls are added by ASUS, the software brightness controls within the Windows 10 Action Center also do not work, and thus the problem does not lie with the implementation of the physical brightness controls. This appears to be an issue with Windows 10. I don't believe it is strictly an issue with Intel drivers as there are some websites recommending to update nVidia or AMD drivers. I realize this is an old post ... just wanted to advise regarding the software controls not working either.

It's not problem with asus ATK, I have removed asus ATK but brightness control work fine with old intel drivers(without Asus Hotkeys), I think hotkey for britghtnes work using Windows 10 and not ATK. So I think problem with Intel Drivers or Windows 10 1803. I tried to install new drivers(24.20.100.6094) but it's not help. 006ab0faaa
