Water is a clear, colorless, tasteless, and odorless liquid required for all kinds of life on Earth. It covers around 71% of the Earth's surface and can be found in a variety of forms, including oceans, rivers, lakes, glaciers, groundwater, and atmospheric water vapor. Many biological, chemical, and physical processes rely on water, which is an essential resource for human survival. It is used for drinking, irrigation, sanitation, industrial operations, energy production, and other applications.
Water pollution is the polluting of water bodies, including rivers, lakes, oceans, groundwater, and even drinking water sources, with dangerous compounds or contaminants. These contaminants can originate from a variety of sources, including industrial activity, agricultural runoff, urban development, and improper waste disposal. Water pollution can have negative consequences for aquatic ecosystems, human health, and the environment. Water contaminants include chemicals, heavy metals, sewage, pathogens, plastics, and nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus. Water pollution can diminish water quality, destroy aquatic life, spread waterborne diseases, and degrade ecosystems. Water pollution is a serious environmental and public health hazard, and efforts are being made globally to monitor and reduce it through various regulations, treatment procedures, and conservation measures.
The theme for this project is " Clean Water". The project that we choose is the Solar Powered Aquaponic System. The meaning of aquaponic system is a clever method of farming in which fish and plants support each other flourish. Fish dwell in tanks and produce feces, which contain nutrients. That waste-filled water is then used to support soilless plants, such as veggies. The plants clean the fish's water, which is then returned to the fish tank. It's like a natural collaboration in which both fish and plants benefit, making it an environmentally benign and effective method of growing food. Meanwhile rain harvesting is the process of collecting rainwater from surfaces it falls on, such as roofs, and storing it for later use. It's a means to save and reuse water for things like watering plants, cleaning, and, with proper care, drinking.
