Teachers are busy and have many responsibilities. Students are diverse and have varied learning needs. Implementing inclusion in the classroom is a challenging task. Our goal is to provide teachers with tools to build and develop their skill set and confidence. INTeacher App is a revolutionary educational app that provides teachers with on-demand Universal Design for Learning (UDL) support powered by AI and microlearning courses to keep up to date with the latest research and methods used for teaching students with special education needs.

The Problem

Over the past decade, inclusive education policies have been made to provide equal access and opportunity to all students. In Canada, most students with special educational needs are included in regular classrooms with different levels of “pull out” service provided. Teachers’ roles have shifted and they need more support to be able to provide a quality education to all students. Many teachers do not feel they have the skill sets nor training to be able to deal with students that have diverse learning needs. Teachers are key players in promoting inclusion within their classrooms.

Teachers have the responsibility for all students, yet not everyone has had the training necessary for dealing with learning challenges and special needs. Many may have general knowledge and skills to motivate and engage students, but it is not enough. When therapists and specialists come into schools to provide services to support students, it is often during instructional time and teachers do not get to benefit from the training provided. This makes it difficult for teachers to fully understand how and when to implement the intervention plans.

Teachers want to make a difference and support all their students. With greater responsibility, teachers need greater support and collaboration.

The Solution

Our INTeacher App will provide teachers with focused tools to build their skill set and confidence in implementing inclusion within their classrooms. Professional development courses can be expensive and may take many hours to complete. Microlearning courses can provide short and focused lessons that are easily repeatable to help teachers build their knowledge. Teachers can also access on-demand UDL support that is powered by AI to provide ideas for multiple means of engagement, representation, and action and expression.

Teachers have a lot to do at school. INTeacher is an innovative app that has been designed to provide teachers with the knowledge and confidence that they need to support their students. INTeacher is developed in collaboration with a team of professionals which includes teachers, pediatricians, speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, behaviour consultants, and child psychologists. At the present, there are over 100 microlearning courses to choose from. The duration of each course ranges from five to ten minutes long. The microlessons are short and targeted, with a focus on the most important and vital information. INTeacher provides on-demand UDL support powered by AI for teachers to create lesson plans that overcome barriers and help promote inclusion.
