Create your Equity Portfolio

Investing in direct equities or equity oriented mutual fund schemes is necessary to fetch better and inflation beating returns. The equity horizon is too big and there are different categories of investors trade in the equity market. However, creating equity portfolio can be a good idea for long term investing as equity investments can beat the inflation in long run.

You can start investing in direct equities in disciplined manner and create your own portfolio. To begin this, please decide on your corpus and also decide on the amount to be allocated for each idea. That means equal weight to each single investment idea. For example, if your corpus is Rs.10 lakhs, you can allocate Rs.1 lakh or Rs.50 K. In case you choose for Rs.1 lakh, you can invest in 10 ideas, else in case of Rs.50K , you can invest in 20 ideas. Please do not go beyond 20 ideas as the managing the portfolio becomes cumbersome, when the portfolio becomes larger and larger.
