MoE's Innovation Cell

The Ministry of Education, Government of India has launched the Institution's Innovation council through MoE's Innovation cell in 2018 to systematically foster the culture of Innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). 

Institution's Innovation Council

A.V College of Arts, Science & Commerce has established the Institution’s Innovation council as per the instructions of the Ministry of Education on 16th July, 2021 with a vision to make ideas work.

The mission of the IIC is to achieve recognition as an institution of excellence in innovation and start-up/entrepreneurship ecosystem by encouraging the creative thinking among the students, foster the spirit of innovation among students and providing an environment to transform their business ideas to reality, 

Major Focus of IIC 

• To create a vibrant innovation ecosystem in the institution.

• Start-up/entrepreneurship supporting mechanism in the institution.

• Prepare the institution for Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements Framework (ARIIA).

Functions of IIC 

• Promote innovation in the Institution through multitudinous modes leading to an innovation promotion eco-system in the campus.

• To conduct various innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities prescribed by Central MIC in time bounded fashion.

• Identify and reward innovations and share success stories.

• Organize periodic workshops/ seminars/ interactions with entrepreneurs, investors, professionals and create a mentor pool for student innovators.

• Network with peers and national entrepreneurship development organizations.

• Create an Institution’s Innovation portal to highlight innovative projects carried out by institution’s faculty and students.

• Organize Hackathons, idea competition, mini-challenges etc., with the involvement of industry.
