Lab News
Our lab member's has been appointed to serve on the Editorial Board of the Strategic Management Journal (SMJ). SMJ is a leading publication in the field of strategic management, one of the UT Dallas top 24 business journals.
Our lab member’s paper has been published in Management Science, one of the most prestigious journals in management research. The paper examines the rollout of California’s cap-and-trade program and reveals a surprising twist: while the program successfully reduced greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, it also triggered a spike in toxic emissions. Why? Facilities scaled back waste-treatment efforts to prioritize meeting GHG targets. By demonstrating that these shifts stemmed from strategic firm actions, the paper challenges how we understand trade-offs among different social objectives. Read more here. The paper was also featured in major news outlets, including 매일경제, 헤럴드경제.
Our lab member's project has been selected for the KAIST URP 2025 Long-Term Program! URP is a highly competitive, student-led research initiative, and only a small number (up to 10) of projects receive long-term financial support. We are especially proud that our project was chosen as one of the few selected in the social science discipline.
Our lab member's proposal on electrification has been selected for the KAIST-U.S. Joint Research Collaboration Program for Early Career Researchers. This is a highly competitive initiative, with only 10 research projects selected across KAIST. As part of the program, we will be collaborating with Professor Kaps at Harvard University, starting from April 2025.
Our lab member was honored with a prestigious award from the Strategic Management Society (SMS), the most widely recognized international association of strategy scholars. The awarded project, which examines the role of carbon risks in corporate strategic decision-making, was also featured in major news media. The grant will support the project through 2025.
