Troubleshooting: TurboTax License Code Not Working?
If your license code is rejected or shows an error, try the solutions below.
1. Double-check for typing errors
Common mistakes include:
(A) Mixing up O (letter) with 0 (zero)
(B) Confusing 1 with I
(C) Missing or adding extra characters
Enter the code slowly and carefully.
2. Make sure you’re on the correct website
Your code must be entered at:
(A) InstallTurboTax.com
(B) Not the mobile app or unrelated sites.
3. Confirm your purchase source
Only official TurboTax products come with valid activation codes.
If purchased from an unauthorized seller, the code may be invalid.
4. Ensure you’re using desktop TurboTax
License codes do not work for:
(A) TurboTax Online
(B) Mobile app versions
(C) They work only with TurboTax Desktop (CD/Download) versions.
5. Try a different browser
Sometimes browser extensions block form fields. Switching to Chrome or Firefox may solve it.
6. Check your Intuit account
Make sure you are logged into the correct account where your product was registered.
If issues continue, TurboTax Support can verify your code.
