If you have an issue where the MSI is not accessible, you can download the installer that corresponds with the installed version via the PowerToys release page and then run the following command. You'll need to change EXECUTABLE_INSTALLER_NAME to the actual file name.

I installed the app Teamviewer on my tablet. It gives me the connection to my laptop. So last time I was with a customer working on my BI Desktop report with my tablet while Power BI Desktop was running on my laptop (my laptop was at home while I was somewhere else). It does mean that my laptop needs to be active the whole time, but for those times I will be away it helps knowing I can work anywhere on my reports on Power BI Desktop.

Power BI Desktop is updated and released on a monthly basis, incorporating customer feedback and new features. Only the latest version of Power BI Desktop is supported. You'll be asked to upgrade the application to the latest version if you contact Support for Power BI Desktop. You can get the latest version of Power BI Desktop from the Windows Store, or as a single executable containing all supported languages that you download and install on your computer.

The Power BI Report Server version of Power BI Desktop is a separate and different installation from the versions discussed in this article. For information about the Report Server version of Power BI Desktop, see Create a Power BI report for Power BI Report Server.

Power BI Desktop ships as a single .exe installation package that contains all supported languages, with separate .exe files for the 32-bit and 64-bit versions. The .msi packages are no longer available. You need the executable for installation. This approach makes distribution, updates, and installation easier and more convenient, especially for administrators. You can also use command-line parameters to customize the installation process, as described in Using command-line options during installation.

Installing the deprecated msi version and the Microsoft Store version of Power BI Desktop on the same computer. Sometimes referred to as a side-by-side installation isn't supported. Manually uninstall Power BI Desktop before you download it from the Microsoft Store.

When you install Power BI Desktop, you can set properties and options with command-line switches. These settings are especially useful for administrators who manage or facilitate the installation of Power BI Desktop across organizations.

If you're deploying Power BI Desktop to your users with a tool that requires a Windows installer file (.msi file), you can extract the .msi file from the Power BI Desktop installer .exe file. Use a third-party tool, such as WiX Toolset.

Upgrading an install from an .exe to an .msi* that you've extracted from an .exe isn't supported. In order to make this upgrade, first you'll need to uninstall the older version of Power BI Desktop that you have.

Since i was neither able to Uninstall the existing version of PowerBI in an attempt to do a clean install nor i was able to install the latest version (32 or 64 bit) of Power BI Desktop that i had downloaded from MSFT Website, I did the following.

I found an older version of the PBI Desktop in my downloads folder and used that installter to first downgrade my installation and thankfully that installation worked properly and it replaced my existing version of Power BI with an older version of PBI.

I then installed the 32 bit version. It behaves the same way as the 64 bit version now. I can close the Window. I can see a really granular printing of my name in the upper-right corner. I can click on the black space and get the FILE menu, but only because I know where it's supposed to be. I can't actually SEE the word File on the screen.

I just got an old used SMT-1500 ups from a buddy, and it sees to be working well, but I'm trying to install the PowerChute software to have my PC (Win10) hibernate if the power fails (which it does sometimes out here), and it's giving me the error:

I am trying to install pytorch using conda on power 8 IBM machine. Although, I read articles from IBM blog, I couldn't install with success because I got stuck with compiling magma.

Note:

1. Goto this anaconda page

2. Search for pytorch

3. Scroll down to see which one has linux-ppc64le as platform

4. Click into that specific package

5. You will get the command to install pytorch

I am developing an application on a Linux embedded board (runs Debian) e.g. Raspberry Pi, Beagle Board/Bone, or olimex. The boards works on an environment that the electricity is cut unexpectedly (it is far complicated to place PSU, etc.) and it would happen every day couple times. I wonder if the unexpected power cuts would cause crash/problem on the Linux Operation System? If it is something that I should worry, what would you suggest to prevent the damages on OS against the unexpected power cuts?

Unexpected power cuts may cause corruption of file system data - e.g. if a process has started writing to a file, but not yet finished writing it, the file may end up only half written. Now imagine if the power cut happens when you're half way through a kernel upgrade...

As l0b0 wrote, using a journaling file system will help, since it will be able to keep track of what has actually gotten done. In addition to the wikipedia info that l0b0 linked, you may be interested in -journaling-filesystems-guarantee-against-corruption-after-a-power-failure as well.

Additionally, most of those boards have very low power requirements, so a battery backup is possible. The "LiPo rider" board for the Raspberry Pi can be used as a basic UPS to provide a clean shutdown on power loss.

Consider for example an application which processes a file and writes the results as they are computed (one output line per input line) to another file. If the power is cut during processing, and the same application is run after restarting, it can't just restart processing from the start of the input file - that would mean the output file would contain duplicate information.

Assuming the hard-drive does not crash and does not lie, a complete power failure should not corrupt the filesystem. Individual files that were being written may still be corrupted, though, so if you were in the middle of updating the OS when the power failure occurred, it is still possible to bring down the OS.

Looks like this could double my battery life (according to the "estimated battery life" displayed when hovering above the battery in the systray) With Firefox open (and 5 or 6 tabs), power draw used to hover around 20W. Now, doing the same thing, power draw hovers around 10W - 11W.

When powering on the doorbell, you have to be even more careful not to short out the wires because that could damage the Wyze doorbell. Connect the front or back terminal wire and then the transformer wire.

Check the Microsoft Office Power Pivot box, and then click OK. If you have other versions of the Power Pivot add-in installed, those versions are also listed in the COM Add-ins list. Be sure to select the Power Pivot add-in for Excel.

I checked the doorbell model, and it is an Edwards C210-W which is on the mechanical doorbell compatibility list for Ring Pro. The transformer is a 16V 10VA which meets the Ring Pro doorbell power requirements.

I installed mine about a week ago, it worked fine for a day. After that day it only rings one mechanical chime and not the second one. Few days later I get a really bad buzzing and vibration coming from the striker. I have had absolutely zero help from ring customer service. They told me to call a technician. The house is literally brand new. The wiring is fine. Ive tried every troubleshooting under the sun with no success. Even removed the device and set up as new. Triple checked all wiring. No success. continues to buzz. Will probably just return it if customer service is going to continue to ignore the fact that my ring has a problem with the unit itself.

I installed a 10 ohm 2 Watt resistor in the manner described in the videos (between hot and ground/neutral and voila! It is now dead quiet and the doorbell still chimes loudly as before. Thanks for the tips it has solved a confounding problem. This solution set me back $1.86 for a pack of two resistors.

Late to the party but thought I could still contribute. Just bought the Ring Pro. Had the same issue with the rattling noise. I replaced the doorbell chimes with a Ring Pro compatible model but still had the rattling. In my case, it turns out the doorbell transformer was not supplying enough power to the Ring Pro. The original transformer was rated at 8-10 V. The Ring Pro needs 16v. I replaced the transformer and have not had any issues so far. 589ccfa754
