When it comes to physical creations, crochet is a near-limitless medium! Clothing, sculpture, functional home decor, or anything in between - a simple hook and some yarn can do it all! The only limitation is your imagination (and whatever yarn you have on hand, I suppose). Crochet is also a uniquely communal art form, with countless people across the globe constantly inventing new patterns and techniques to share amongst their fellow artists, adding to the grand legacy of this craft throughout the hundreds of years that it's existed.
Millions of people around the world crochet for a plethora of reasons: stress relief, self-expression, boredom - you name it! As for me, I initially fell in love with the soothing repetitiveness of crochet in middle school, using it as a way to get my mind off of things and bring creations to life that I could take pride in. That tradition of mine has stuck with me to this day; however, the type of things I crochet has certainly changed!
Nowadays, I use crochet as a way to explore a plethora of fun visual and physical effects, constantly experimenting with methods to pluck out the ideas floating about in my head and plop them into the world so that people can interact with them in a very physical way. I love making unordinary things to fill ordinary places in one's life, bringing mirth to the more functional aspects of the world one stitch at a time.
Inspo to Evo offers a plethora of patterns, available either for free or for a small fee. If there's a pattern currently available for any items depicted here, it'll be linked in the item description in the Gallery. Should that pattern be free, you'll find it here on the Free Patterns page. If the pattern must be paid for, the item description will have the link to where you can buy it on Esty. In the case that an item in the Gallery doesn't have a pattern link, that likely means that it's likely on the list to be written!
If you're itching to get your hands on a certain crochet pattern that isn't available yet, feel free to request it through my email! I'm more than happy to move up a pattern's write-up date if there's demand for it. However, please keep in mind that it takes time to put patterns together - especially for more complex projects!
Do I take commissions? The short answer is yes!
The longer answer is "sort of". Depending on upcoming events and ongoing projects, commissions will be open when my schedule allows for it. Frequently, these commission slots are filled by friends or family, but occasionally I do open them to the public! Keep an eye out for announcements on the homepage (as well as my Insta and Etsy) to see if/when commissions will open. In the meantime, feel free to take a look at my commissions info below to get an idea of how things work!
Above is a general guide to how I run commissions! Below are some examples of commissions I could do, intended to give buyers an idea of my work and price-points. These are not items that are currently listed for sale, but they could be ordered once commissions are open if you see something you like!
