My name is Zakiya, your neighbourhood educator, and I am so happy you're here! I established Inspire and Grow because I believe that every child deserves the best education! Helping children achieve their goals begins with making sure they have the foundation they need in order to build upon it. I am an enthusiastic lover of learning with a passion for helping people.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a Major in Linguistics and a Minor in Sociology from the University of Alberta. Soon after, I received a Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education from Concordia University of Edmonton.

I have been an Elementary teacher for the last 8 years and I have over 15 years of volunteer experience with children including tutoring, mentoring and programs such as scavenger hunts and sporting events.

I am dedicated to providing the best quality education through my own on-going learning, research and collaboration with other teachers. I strive to be organized in order to focus on the needs of my students and I aspire to discover innovative and engaging ways of teaching in order to create a positive learning environment for all.

When I am not working I love to read, listen to podcasts and take my dog for a walk.
