Greg Blythe 

Greg Blythe has always had a passion for teaching, coaching and developing our youth.  He just completed his first season at Whitefield Academy.  Formerly, he was Head Coach at Loganvilee Christian Academy, and Associate Head Coach at Pace Academy, where they won State Championships in 2021, 2020, 2017, and 2016.

A graduate of Georgia State University, Greg initially pursued a corporate career in auditing.  He simultaneously ran a basketball training business in Peachtree City that focused on developing players of all levels. In 2008, he became an Assistant Coach at Dunwoody High School, followed by two years at South Gwinnett High School. Greg then began coaching Club basketball in 2011.

It was through Club basketball coaching that Tarrik and Greg met, eventually becoming best of friends after carpooling on the way to the Inaugural CP3 Rising Stars camp in North Carolina. In 2014, Greg decided to make the career change from corporate to full-time teaching and coaching as he was named Head Coach at Atlanta International School in Buckhead.

In 2015, Greg started coaching at Pace Academy and also co-founded Inspire Atlanta, a youth basketball organization that allows him to lead, teach, and serve. Through Inspire Atlanta, Greg strives to provide players with the resources necessary to tackle future obstacles and challenges. He describes his coaching philosophy as: “Love Tough”.  Love comes first, as he strives to care and connect with each player; followed by tough, in which he challenges them to become the best version of themself. Greg says, “at Inspire Atlanta we’ve gotten over ourselves and recognize that true success comes by serving others, working hard, and living life the WE OVER ME way."

Tarrik Mabon

Coach "T" Mabon is the Head Varsity Men's Basketball Coach at The Mount Vernon School. He is a 2007 graduate of Morehouse College (Atlanta, GA).  After graduation, Coach T worked for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc as a Financial Analyst.  In 2013, he decided to leave Turner in order to follow his passion of inspiring and leading youth through the game of basketball.  That journey continues to open doors and create unique opportunities to continue that passion!  At The Mount Vernon School, Coach T is not only the Head Basketball Coach; he is Director of Spiritual Life and Middle School P.E. Teacher.

As Co-Founder, Coach T has been proud of the growth of the Inspire Atlanta brand.  He takes great pride in the reputation of basketball, families, and high character kids that Inspire showcases.  Known for his "passionate coaching" style, Coach T is grateful to pour into our youth unapologetically and working alongside Coach Greg Blythe.
