Welcome to Insights! These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Insights mobile application ("App") available on both Android and iOS platforms. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use the App.
Insights provides summaries of various non-fiction books, designed to give users key insights and learnings from the books in an easy-to-digest format. The summaries are created based on notes but may be enhanced using artificial intelligence tools to proofread and improve the quality of the content.
This App is free to use, offering a choice between a free, ad-supported version and a premium subscription that unlocks additional features. Users can choose to access the free version, which contains ads, or subscribe to the premium version for an enhanced, ad-free experience.
These Terms outline the rights and responsibilities of users and govern the access and use of the App’s services.
By accessing or using Insights (the "App"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, as well as our Privacy Policy. These Terms apply to all users of the App, including those who are using the free version with ads and those who have subscribed to the premium service.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately stop using the App and uninstall it from your device.

Minimum Age Requirement: You must be at least 16 years old to download, install, or use the App. If you are under 16 years of age, you are not permitted to use the App under any circumstances. If we become aware that a user under the age of 16 has created an account or is using the App, we reserve the right to terminate that account and delete all related information.
Compliance with Local Laws: By using the App, you represent that your use of the App complies with all applicable local, state, and national laws. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the App is lawful in your jurisdiction, especially with regard to minimum age requirements.
Parental Consent: If you are between the ages of 16 and 18 (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction), you must have parental or guardian consent to use the App. By continuing to use the App, you confirm that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
Account Responsibility: If you are eligible to use the App, you agree to provide accurate and complete registration information when creating an account. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for any activity that occurs under your account. No Use by Organizations: The App is intended for individual, personal use only. It is not designed for use by companies, organizations, or other legal entities. Any such use is strictly prohibited unless explicitly authorized by us.
By using Insights, you affirm that you meet the eligibility requirements stated above. If at any point you do not meet these requirements, you must cease using the App immediately.
Insights offers a range of features designed to enhance your experience, and these features are divided between free access with ads and a premium subscription model.
3.1 Free Features and Ads
Free Access: The Insights app is free to download and use. Users who choose the free version of the app will have access to a wide range of book summaries, but the app will display advertisements throughout the user experience.
Ads in the Free Version: To support the ongoing development and maintenance of the app, we include ads in the free version. These ads may be displayed at various points while you use the app, and by using the free version, you agree to view these advertisements as part of your experience.
3.2 Premium Features and Subscription
Ad-Free Experience: Users who prefer an ad-free experience can opt for the premium subscription. By subscribing to the premium plan, ads will be removed from the app, offering a more seamless and uninterrupted usage experience.
Subscription Plan: The premium plan is available for a recurring fee, which may be billed monthly, yearly, or on another basis, depending on your selected plan. The exact pricing, payment terms, and renewal options will be outlined during the subscription process, and by subscribing, you agree to these terms. You can cancel your subscription at any time, but any fees already paid are non-refundable unless otherwise stated in our refund policy.
Exclusive Features: In addition to the ad-free experience, premium users may also gain access to exclusive features or content that is not available to free users. These features may include, but are not limited to:
Early access to new book summaries
Access to premium-only content or additional summary formats
Enhanced app functionality
Future premium updates and features
3.3 Future Changes to Features
New Features: We may introduce new features or modify existing ones over time. Some of these features may only be available to premium users. We reserve the right to make these changes at our discretion, and such updates may require you to accept new terms or conditions for continued use of the app.
Feature Availability: Please note that we do not guarantee the availability of any particular feature in the app. Features available in the free or premium version may change, be removed, or added without prior notice.
By using the free version or subscribing to the premium plan, you agree to comply with these Terms regarding app usage, including viewing ads in the free version and paying recurring subscription fees for the premium version.
4.1 Account Creation
To access certain features of Insights, you may be required to create an account. We currently offer social login options to create an account, which include:

Apple Login
We may add additional login options in the future, which will also be governed by these Terms. When you create an account, you agree to provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information, as required by the registration process. Any false or misleading information provided during registration may result in the suspension or termination of your account.
4.2 Account Management
Once your account is created, you will have access to various features within the app, depending on whether you are using the free or premium version.
Profile and Account Settings: You can manage your account information, including personal details and subscription settings, directly from the Profile section in the app.
Account Deletion: You have the option to delete your account at any time. Account deletion can be initiated in the Profile section. Once the account deletion is confirmed, your account and all associated data (including book summaries, preferences, and usage history) will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. If you decide to use the app again in the future, even with the same login credentials, the system will treat this as a new account, and no previous data will be restored.
4.3 Subscription and Account Deletion
If you are subscribed to the premium version of Insights, it is your responsibility to cancel your subscription before deleting your account. Failure to do so may result in unwanted charges being debited from your payment method, as subscriptions may auto-renew based on the terms of your selected plan. We are not responsible for any charges that occur if you delete your account without first canceling your subscription.
How to Cancel Subscription: You can manage and cancel your subscription through the app store where you initially subscribed (Google Play Store or Apple App Store). Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription; this must be done manually through the respective app store.
4.4 User Responsibility for Account Activity
As the account holder, you are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. This includes, but is not limited to:
Keeping Login Credentials Secure: You must keep your login credentials secure and confidential. Sharing your login information with others or allowing third parties to access your account is prohibited.
Unauthorized Access: If you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account or suspect that your account credentials have been compromised, you must notify us immediately at tara.bisht.arts@gmail.com.
Consequences of Misuse: Any misuse of your account, whether intentional or due to negligence, that results in the violation of these Terms may lead to the suspension or permanent termination of your account.
By creating an account, you agree to take full responsibility for your account's activity and comply with these Terms.
1. Free trial
We may offer a free trial subscription for Premium plan for new users. The duration of the free trial period will be specified on the payment screen before you subscribe. You will have full access to the service during the trial period.
Automatic Charge: Unless you cancel the free trial at least 24 hours before the trial period ends, your payment method will be automatically charged for the subscription price as displayed on the payment screen, according to the selected subscription plan (weekly, monthly, 6-months, yearly, etc.).
Eligibility: Free trial eligibility is determined at our sole discretion, and we may limit or prevent certain users from accessing a free trial.
2. Subscription
By purchasing a subscription, you agree to an automatically renewing subscription that will be charged to your payment method on a recurring basis, depending on the subscription option you select.
Renewal: Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing cycle (weekly, monthly, biannually, annually, etc.), and you will be charged the subscription fee until you cancel. The renewal will occur unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current subscription period ends.
3. Payment method
By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your chosen payment method for the applicable subscription fees at the time of purchase and for subsequent renewals. Your payment method will be charged at the confirmation of the initial purchase and then at the start of each new subscription period.
4. Cancellation
How to Cancel: You can cancel your subscription at any time by managing your ‘Manage Subscription’ option in Profile tab in the app:
For App Store (iOS) Users: To cancel, navigate to your Apple ID account settings and turn off auto-renewal. Cancellation must be completed at least 24 hours before the trial period or current subscription period ends to avoid being charged for the next billing cycle. For Google Play (Android) Users: To cancel, go to your Google Play account settings and disable auto-renewal. Ensure cancellation is done at least 24 hours before the current subscription period ends to avoid being charged. Detailed instructions can be found on the Google Play Support page.
Post-Cancellation Access: When you cancel a subscription, auto-renewal will be disabled. However, you will retain access to all paid features until the end of the current billing cycle, after which the subscription will end and no further charges will be made.
Important: Simply deleting the app from your device does not cancel your subscription. You must manage the cancellation through your Profile section in the app as described above.
5. Changes
We may modify subscription fees, features, or terms from time to time. In the event of a price change, we will notify you in advance by email, app notification, or other prominent means. The updated subscription price will become effective at the start of the next billing cycle.
Price Change: If you do not agree to the price change, you may cancel your subscription before the next renewal. Continuing to use the service after the price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
6. Refunds
If you purchased a subscription or enabled free trial on App Store: If you are eligible for a refund, you’ll have to request it directly from Apple. To request a refund, follow these instructions from the Apple support page.

6.1 Ownership of Content
All content available in the Insights app, including but not limited to book summaries, text, graphics, logos, images, audio content, and any other materials (collectively, "Content"), is the intellectual property of Insights or its licensors. This content is protected by applicable intellectual property laws, including copyright and trademark laws.
Limited License: By using the app, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to access and use the Content for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Content without our explicit written consent.
Prohibited Use: You agree not to use the Content in any way that infringes on the intellectual property rights of Insights or any third parties. Unauthorized use of the Content may result in legal action.
6.2 Use of AI Tools for Content Generation
At Insights, we use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to enhance the quality and accuracy of our book summaries and audio content. Specifically, AI may be used for:
Grammar and Proofreading: AI tools may be employed to proofread the grammar and improve the quality of the summaries presented in the app. While these tools help refine the content, they are not perfect and may still contain errors.
Text-to-Speech (TTS) for Audio Content: We may use AI-based Text-to-Speech (TTS) software to generate audio versions of the book summaries. These AI-generated audios aim to provide users with an easy and accessible way to consume the content.
While we strive to provide high-quality summaries and audio content, the use of AI tools means that mistakes may occur. We do not guarantee that all information provided in the app is 100% accurate.
6.3 Educational Purposes Only
The content provided in the Insights app is for educational purposes only. You agree not to rely on the summaries, insights, or other content for:
Medical Advice: The app does not offer medical advice. If you require medical information or treatment, please consult a qualified healthcare provider.
Legal Advice: The app does not provide legal advice or services. Any legal concerns or decisions should be handled by consulting a licensed legal professional.
Other Professional Advice: The app is not a substitute for financial, psychological, or other professional advice. Please consult the appropriate professionals for any issues requiring expert input.
The content in the app is intended to provide users with general educational information and insights into various non-fiction books. However, errors or inaccuracies may occur. Insights does not claim that all content is completely accurate or up to date.
6.4 Reporting Errors
If you encounter any errors or mistakes in the summaries or other content provided by the app, you can report these errors through the in-app reporting feature or by contacting us at tara.bisht.arts@gmail.com. We appreciate your feedback and will make efforts to review and correct reported errors.
When using the Insights app, you agree to comply with all applicable laws and refrain from engaging in any of the following prohibited activities. These rules are in place to protect the app’s data, maintain the integrity of the content, and prevent misuse.
7.1 Unauthorized Use of the App and Content
You are prohibited from engaging in any activities that:
Circumvent Security Measures: Attempting to bypass or interfere with any security-related features or restrictions that control access to the app or any of its content is strictly prohibited.
Unauthorized Access: Gaining unauthorized access to our servers, databases, or other systems related to the app, including accessing accounts or personal information of other users, is strictly prohibited.
Copying or Reproducing Content: You may not download, copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or publicly display any part of the app’s content (including book summaries, audio files, or other materials) without our prior written consent. This includes using automated means (e.g., bots, scrapers) to access or collect data from the app.
7.2 Commercial Exploitation of the App
The Insights app and its content are intended solely for personal use. You are prohibited from:
Reselling or Redistributing: You may not sell, lease, sublicense, or distribute the content of the app (including book summaries and audio files) to third parties for commercial gain.
Using Content for Unauthorized Purposes: The app’s content is provided for educational and informational purposes only. You may not use the summaries or audio content for any purpose other than personal learning or review. It is not intended to be used for financial, legal, or other professional advice.
7.3 Misuse of Audio Content
Since the Insights app offers audio content generated using AI Text-to-Speech (TTS) technology, misuse of this content is prohibited, including but not limited to:
Recording and Sharing: You may not record or share audio content generated by the app for distribution outside of the app’s intended use without permission.
Unauthorized Distribution: You are prohibited from distributing or making publicly available any audio files or related content that is part of the app’s offerings.
7.4 Harmful or Illegal Activities
You may not engage in any activities that:
Violate Applicable Laws: You must comply with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations while using the app. Any unlawful activities, including but not limited to hacking, phishing, or spreading malware, are prohibited.
Harm Other Users or the App: You may not use the app in any manner that could harm, disrupt, or negatively impact other users, the app itself, or its associated services, systems, or networks.
Impersonation: You may not impersonate any person or entity or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity while using the app.
7.5 Misrepresentation and False Information
You are prohibited from:
Providing False Information: Submitting any false, misleading, or inaccurate information when creating an account, submitting feedback, or interacting with the app in any other manner.
Spreading Misinformation: Disseminating false or misleading content through user-generated comments, feedback, or other submissions within the app is prohibited.
7.6 Intellectual Property Infringement
You may not engage in any activities that:
Infringe on Intellectual Property Rights: You are prohibited from using, sharing, or distributing any content in the app that infringes upon the intellectual property rights of Insights or third parties. This includes, but is not limited to, copyrighted material, trademarks, and proprietary technologies.
Reverse Engineering: Attempting to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise extract the source code or underlying technology of the app is prohibited.
7.7 Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any prohibited activities or violations of these Terms and Conditions, you are encouraged to report such activities to us immediately at tara.bisht.arts@gmail.com.
We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. The following section explains how we collect, use, and protect the data you provide when using the Insights app. By using the app, you consent to the collection and use of your information in accordance with this section and our Privacy Policy.
8.1 Account Creation and Personal Information
To access and use the Insights app, you must create an account using a social login option such as Google or Apple. As part of the account creation process, we may collect the following personal information:
Basic Account Information: We may collect your name, email address, and profile picture as provided by your social login provider (Google or Apple). This information is used to identify you and manage your account.
Additional Information: Depending on the settings in your social login account, we may also collect age group, gender, preferences, and other information that is necessary for managing your account and improving your experience on the app.

If you delete your account, we will permanently delete all associated data, and there will be no way to retrieve it. Please note that deleting your account does not automatically cancel any active subscriptions, and you should cancel your premium subscription separately to avoid unwanted charges.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. However, we may share your information in the following circumstances:
Service Providers: We may share your data with third-party service providers (such as analytics tools and cloud storage providers) to help us operate and improve the app. These third parties are required to protect your data and only use it for the purposes we have authorized.

Account Deletion: You can delete your account at any time through the Profile section in the app. Once your account is deleted, all associated data will be permanently erased, and there will be no way to retrieve it. If you wish to use the app again, you will need to create a new account.
Data Accuracy and Corrections: You are responsible for ensuring that the personal information you provide is accurate and up to date. If any of your information changes, you should update it within the app settings.
Opting Out of Marketing Communications: If you receive marketing communications from us, you can opt-out at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in the email or contacting us at tara.bisht.arts@gmail.com.
8.7 Children’s Privacy
The Insights app is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately at tara.bisht.arts@gmail.com, and we will take steps to delete that information.
8.8 Changes to Privacy and Data Protection Policy
We may update this Privacy and Data Protection section from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, or legal requirements. Any changes will be posted within the app, and your continued use of the app after such changes constitutes your agreement to the updated terms.
The Insights app integrates with several third-party services to provide a seamless and enhanced user experience. By using the app, you acknowledge and agree to the use of these third-party services, which may have their own terms and privacy policies.
9.1 Services We Use
To deliver core features of the app, we currently use the following third-party services:
Google and Apple Social Sign-In: We use Google and Apple’s social sign-in services to simplify the account creation and login processes. When you sign in using these services, your account is linked to the information provided by these platforms, including your name, email address, and any other publicly accessible data you have shared. By using these login methods, you agree to the terms and privacy policies of Google and Apple.
Firebase: Firebase, a platform developed by Google, is used to manage user authentication, real-time databases, cloud storage, and analytics. This service is essential for storing and managing your account information, app activity, and other data necessary for app functionality. Firebase collects and stores personal information in accordance with its privacy policy, which you can review [here].
RevenueCat: RevenueCat is used to manage subscription services within the Insights app. This third-party service allows users to subscribe to premium features and handles subscription management for both Android and iOS platforms. By subscribing through RevenueCat, you agree to their terms and privacy policies. RevenueCat manages payment processing and subscription renewal, but we do not store any of your payment details directly.
Google AdMob: The Insights app is free to use with ads provided by Google AdMob. AdMob uses cookies and other tracking technologies to deliver personalized ads based on your app activity and interests. By using the app, you agree to Google AdMob’s ad delivery system and its data collection practices, as described in Google’s privacy policy. You may opt out of personalized ads in your device settings.
9.2 Future Integrations
We may introduce additional third-party services in the future to enhance app functionality or improve user experience. By continuing to use the app, you agree to the terms and privacy practices of any new third-party services that may be added. We will notify users about these additions either within the app or through an update to these Terms and Conditions.
9.3 Third-Party Data Collection and Use
Please note that when using third-party services integrated with the Insights app, the third-party providers may collect and use your data in ways that are beyond our control. 9.4 No Liability for Third-Party Services
While we strive to work with reputable and secure third-party providers, Insights is not responsible for the practices, privacy policies, or performance of third-party services. Your use of these services is at your own risk, and any issues or disputes arising from their use should be directed to the respective third-party provider.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Insights and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and licensors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the app. This includes, but is not limited to, damages for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
10.1 No Warranty for Content
While we strive to provide accurate and high-quality content, Insights makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of the book summaries, audio content, or other materials available through the app. The content is provided for educational purposes only and may contain errors or inaccuracies. We do not warrant that the content will be error-free or that the app will be free from interruptions or technical issues.
10.2 No Liability for User-Generated Content
If the app allows users to generate or submit content, including but not limited to comments, reviews, or feedback, Insights is not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or appropriateness of such user-generated content. We do not endorse or guarantee the views expressed by users and shall not be liable for any damages or issues arising from user-generated content.
10.3 Limitations on Liability for Third-Party Services
Insights is not liable for any issues or damages arising from your use of third-party services integrated into the app, including but not limited to Google, Apple, Firebase, RevenueCat, and Google AdMob. These third-party services are provided "as-is" and are subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. Any disputes or claims related to third-party services should be directed to the third-party provider.
10.4 Limitation on Aggregate Liability
In the event that Insights is found to be liable for any damages arising out of or related to your use of the app, the total liability of Insights and its affiliates shall be limited to the amount you have paid to us, if any, for the use of the app during the six (6) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
10.5 Exclusions and Limitations
Certain jurisdictions may not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities. If any provision of this section is found to be invalid or unenforceable under the laws of such a jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
10.6 No Liability for Unauthorized Access or Use
Insights is not liable for any damages or losses resulting from unauthorized access to or use of your account, including but not limited to unauthorized access resulting from your failure to protect your login credentials.
10.7 Disclaimer of Specific Damages
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Insights disclaims any liability for damages related to loss of data, loss of business, loss of goodwill, or any other consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the app.
Insights reserves the right to terminate or suspend user accounts and access to the app under certain conditions. This section outlines the conditions under which user accounts may be terminated and the rights of Insights regarding termination of services.
11.1 Conditions for Account Termination
Insights may terminate or suspend your account and access to the app in the following situations:
Violation of Terms: If you violate any of the terms and conditions outlined in this agreement, including but not limited to prohibited activities, misuse of content, or any other breach of the terms, Insights reserves the right to terminate your account without prior notice.
Fraudulent Activity: If we detect or suspect fraudulent, deceptive, or illegal activity associated with your account, we may terminate your account immediately to protect the integrity and security of the app and its users.
Extended Inactivity: If your account remains inactive for an extended period as defined by Insights, we may choose to deactivate or terminate your account. Inactive accounts may be defined as those with no login activity for a period of 12 months or more.
User Request: You have the right to request the termination of your account at any time. To request account deletion, you must follow the instructions provided in the app’s Profile section. Once your account is deleted, all associated data will be permanently erased.
11.2 Rights to Terminate Services
Insights reserves the right to:
Modify or Discontinue Services: We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the app or services at our sole discretion. This includes changes to app features, functionalities, or availability. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.
Terminate Services: We may terminate access to the app and its services for any reason, including but not limited to changes in business operations, compliance with legal or regulatory requirements, or if we determine that continuing to offer the services is no longer viable.
Provide Notice: When terminating services or accounts, Insights will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice to users whenever possible. However, we reserve the right to terminate services immediately if we believe it is necessary to protect the app, its users, or comply with legal obligations.
11.3 Effects of Termination
Upon termination of your account or access to the app:
Data Loss: You may lose access to any content, data, or information associated with your account. Insights will not be responsible for any loss of data or content resulting from account termination.
Subscription Cancellation: If you have an active subscription, it will be canceled upon termination of your account. You will not be entitled to any refunds for unused subscription periods. It is your responsibility to cancel your subscription separately to prevent any further charges.
Obligations Post-Termination: Any obligations or liabilities incurred prior to termination will survive the termination of your account or access to the app.
