In the moment
There always a moment of despair
When you struggle to breath the air
There always a moment of fear
As you think about what you are going to hear
Then at last there's a moment of peace
Right before the dam is to be released
And then there is the moment you waited to say
Mun and dad I am gay

note from the poet : This poem is look back into how I felt coming out . How looking back it felt like the biggest , hardest thing I ever had to do . In this poem i tried to explore the moment right before I came out ,for me there was plenty of times i hyped myself up but still didn't cross that line , here I attempted to make the reader feel that pent up energy and allow it to be released as they read the last line . This poem means a lot to me personally as it allowed me to remember the feeling and realise how hard it can be to come out not just to family but also yourself and how much we still need to fight for coming out to be normal .
