About me

I have recently started my role as an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Yonsei University, South Korea. I have previously worked as a postdoctoral associate at Duke University, a research scientist at Duke University and Metacept Systems (located in Durham, USA) after completing my PhD degree at Duke University (under the supervision of Prof. David Smith).

Research Interests

My research interests include advanced electromagnetic structures, including metamaterials, metasurfaces, and their applications in wireless communication, power transfer, imaging, and remote sensing systems. I have authored numerous peer-reviewed technical journal and conference articles, and I have also been serving as a reviewer for premier journals in the field of antennas and propagation, as well as wireless communications.

Research Collaborators

My previous and ongoing research, conducted in collaboration with distinguished researchers, has been invaluable and exciting!! Currently, I have an affiliate status at Duke University, and you will be welcome to work on collaborative projects, depending on your interests and funding situation. FYI, a non-exhaustive list of my collaborators includes:

Research Opportunities

We appreciate the interest in our research group from prospective undergraduate and graduate students, as well as postdoctoral researchers. We are seeking highly motivated students and researchers who are interested in advancing science through the development of next-generation wireless systems and novel electromagnetic devices. Those interested in learning more about current research opportunities should contact Prof. Yoo via email at any time!
