Prof. Ryuichiro Nakato (Univ. Tokyo) and Prof. Guillaume Bourque organized a symposium titled 'Large-scale computational epigenomics for the elucidation of genomic regulatory mechanisms' at the 47th Molecular Biology Society of Japan (MBSJ) in Fukuoka. Guillaume, Nhi, and Taka each presented a talk in the symposium. In addition, Zicong Zhang presented a poster at the conference.

We appreciate all the participants for the productive discussion!

In a symposium "Direct reprogramming from somatic cells to desired cells by pioneer transcription factors" organized by Dr. Yuuri Yasuoka (RIKEN) at The 56th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Developmental Biologists (Sendai), I presented a talk "Massively parallel dissection of regulatory code underlying neural differentiation". I appreciate the audience for joining and active discussion.

March 20-23th, 2023, our collaborators, Dr. David Gokhman, Dr. Simon Fishilevich, Ms. Katharina Lange (Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel) visited our laboratory for the first time. We had a joint lab meeting, from dawn till dusk all three days, and spent amazingly precious time together!

2023年3月20-23日、共同研究者のDavid Gokhman博士、Simon Fishilevich博士、Katharina Langeさん（イスラエル、ワイツマン科学研究所）が当研究室を訪問し、ジョイントラボミーティングを行いました。3日間、朝から晩までみっちりとディスカッションすることができ、非常に貴重で有意義な時間となりました！

Dr. Taro Tsujimura (ASHBi) and I hosted a workshop "Genome autonomy, woven by various functional elements: its frontline and technology development" at the 45th Molecular Biology Society of Japan (Makuhari Messe). In this workshop, we invited speakers who aim to decipher functional genome by leveraging novel technologies that enable genome-wide analysis of gene regulatory elements.

Fumitaka Inoue (Kyoto Univ. ASHBi), Dr. Kousuke Mouri (The Jackson Laboratory), Dr. Yasuhiro Murakawa (Kyoto Univ. ASHBi, RIKEN), Dr. Tetsutaro Hayashi (RIKEN), Dr. Nayuta Yakushiji-Kaminatsui (RIKEN), Aki Ushiki (UCSF), and Dr. Taro Tsujimura (Kyoto Univ. ASHBi)

The workshop includes MPRA, 5' RNA-seq, shinRAmDA-seq, long-read DNA-seq, as well as limb phenotypic approach, all accelerating many discussions and further development of the functional genomics research field. I appreciate all the speakers and participants!

In addition, Assistant Professor Xun Chen presented a talk and poster at the conference and got a lot of feedback. We appreciate the participants for the productive discussion!

第45回日本分子生物学会（幕張メッセ）にて、ASHBi辻村先生と共同で、ワークショップ「多様な機能性制御領域が織りなすゲノムオートノミー：新技術と最前線」を主催しました。
本ワークショップでは、遺伝子制御領域の網羅的探索や詳細な機能解析を可能とする新技術を開発・駆使しながら機能ゲノム解明に挑む新進気鋭の研究者にご発表頂きました。

井上詞貴 (京都大・ASHBi)、毛利亘輔先生 (The Jackson Laboratory)、村川泰裕先生 (京都大・ASHBi、理研)、林哲太郎先生 (理研)、薬師寺那由他先生 (理研)、牛木亜季先生 (UCSF)、辻村太郎先生 (京都大・ASHBi)

新しいMPRAのほか、5' RNA-seq、shinRAmDA-seq、ロングリードDNA-seqといった新技術から、四肢形成のような表現型にまでアプローチする最先端の研究について活発な議論が展開され、機能ゲノミクスのさらなる隆盛が感じられました。多くの方にご参加いただき、本当にありがとうございました。

また、Xun Chen特定助教が口頭発表・ポスター発表を行い、多くの方に議論して頂きました。ありがとうございました。
