Food has a wonderful way of bringing people together! This summer, we held our first International Potluck, with everyone bringing a dish from their home country or simply something they love and are good at making. It was a great opportunity to discover new foods, share a little bit of our different backgrounds, and spend time together outside of our usual lab routine. We enjoyed it so much that we have already decided: the International Potluck is becoming an annual AG Noh tradition!

This summer, we were pleased to welcome Jae Hwan Kang, a student at SAIHST, Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul, South Korea, to our lab for a 4-week research visit as part of the CS-IRTG program. During his stay, Jae Hwan joined our team and gained hands-on experience while contributing to the ongoing LUCID project. It was a pleasure having him with us, and we wish him all the best for his continued research and studies in Seoul!

This summer, we are happy to welcome Yewon Cho, a Bachelor's student from Constructor University in Bremen, to our lab for a 9-week summer internship. During her time with us, Yewon will gain hands-on research experience and contribute to several ongoing projects in our lab. We are delighted to have her as part of the team and hope she has an exciting and rewarding summer with us!

Dr. Varun Gupta presented our work on the perioperative safety of neoadjuvant chemotherapy and chemoimmunotherapy in resectable NSCLC at the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS) 2026 Annual Meeting in Athens, Greece. The study provides real-world evidence supporting the surgical safety of modern neoadjuvant treatment strategies in lung cancer.

We are pleased to welcome Annika Albrecht as a visiting undergrad researcher through the DAAD-RISE Germany program this summer. Annika joins our group from the Ohio State University, United States and will contribute to the KMT9i study. We look forward to supporting her scientific development and to the exchange of ideas that international research collaborations make possible. Welcome to Cologne and to the lab, Annika!
