What happens during these meetings?
- There is always an agenda and guided topics or questions to discuss, but sometimes the group has a pressing issue that needed to be addressed and that also led to the focus and direction of the meeting
- Provide snacks. I held our meetings after school and know that a little caffeine or snack is always appreciated. The first meeting was in a local library meeting room, but all the other meetings were at my home. This created a more relaxed environment for the participants.
- Possible Topics for Agendas:
- Share your story of how you become a teacher, and what keeps you in teaching? (This was the question for our first meeting and provided a great way for us to learn more about each other.)
- What contributes to the happiest part of your job? What sparks joy?
- What contributes to the most stressful part of your job?
- Work and life balance
- Ed Tech Time - Share a favorite ed tech resource or bring a question
- Dealing with challenging students
- Dealing with challenging colleagues
- Encourage the group to bring up their own agenda items.
