We have chosen to deliver information about the Educational Technology program as a multimedia presentation because it is an effective way to engage learners by making connections between visual and verbal representations of the content. This ultimately leads to a better understanding of what is being presented.
By using social media outlets and campus marketing e-mails, we will be able to reach our target audience, one that is both culturally and educationally diverse. Having the multimedia presentation available on a public forum will ensure it is easily accessible to anyone, promoting a rich learning environment that includes students from all walks of life. Because of the subject area, educational technology, the multimedia presentation itself is also a way to demonstrate what skills can be learned by enrolling in the program. The information to be presented will be outlined in a way that makes it easy to understand the connection between what educational technology is and what the benefits are to joining this field.
Innovation Solution Squad has chosen to use the ADDIE model for this instructional design project because it is the team's belief that it will allow us to better meet the needs of the client. The ADDIE model allows the team to tailor a solution specifically for our client by breaking down the problem into five stages and is the best choice because it allows designers to provide the most effective and best learner-centered experience (Allen & Sites, 2012). First, in the analyze stage, we will inform and educate our target audience of the possible career opportunities and benefits to be gained by enrolling in the educational technology program. The design stage will showcase the various skills gained that can be used in real-world scenarios. Then, in the develop stage, the team will create a multimedia presentation that can be viewed by the general public and delivered to our target audience through various distribution channels within and outside of the university, such as email, digital displays, digital billboards, and social media platforms. Next, the implementation stage will deliver our instructional solution to the educational technology program director to be implemented and distributed as he sees fit. Lastly, the team will use the evaluate stage to analyze the effectiveness of the instructional solution, which is expected to be a positive change in the enrollment numbers of the educational technology program.
