Our Twitter, Facebook, and Discord are still under construction!

We are always looking for playtesters! If you wish the contact me regarding Innomination, there is contact information on the final page of the Instruction Manual. You can find it in the Downloads section of this website.

The official Innomination Prototype Feedback Form is here. If you've played Innomination, please use it. Even if we're not physically around, we still want to hear from you.

UPDATE: 10/21/21

The Tabletop Simulator mod for Prototype 4 is available. Please check the downloads section for details.

Truth be told, it was actually available about a month ago, but I've also been doing a lot of physical playtesting. Yes, I have a physical prototype as well! Unfortunately I've discovered a lot of mistakes already (because of course I would)... However, because of how much it costs to keep producing prototypes, I don't think I'll be printing more. From now on, most fixes are going to be with correction tape and stuff. So the physical game demo I bring with me everywhere is going to look pretty beat up. That's okay!

All of my playtesting online will now happen through Tabletop Simulator. The best part? You don't have to download anything! All you need is Tabletop Simulator. I can just invite people to games.

The LackeyCCG plugin is no longer supported. I'm thankful for everything LackeyCCG has given me so far (mainly because it was free), but it is a pain to keep updating this. Tabletop Simulator makes updating so easy. Plus people had to download the client and download the plugin and put everything in the right folders... At some point I conceded this is more trouble than it's worth (so much time wasted trying to fix things with just the client itself...).

Now then, about the game itself:

The average health of Leaders has decreased for the time being and may do so permanently. The size of decks has decreased permanently. Please see State of the Game for why I think this is a step in the right direction for Innomination.

Previously, on Innomination...

UPDATE: 8/18/21

Prototype 4 is ready. At least, I think it is.. Remember, this is what people will be seeing on our Kickstarter. We're one step closer to that Kickstarter...

The LackeyCCG plugin has been updated to Prototype 4. The plugin is called InnominationP4, so you don't necessarily have to remove Prototype 3.1 if you don't want to...

I am working on getting Prototype 4 on Tabletop Simulator. It's not hard per say... but presentation does matter. People won't play Innomination at all if the mod is a chore to use.

I am working on a paper version of the prototype. I will be making a proof of Prototype 4, then I will make copies of Prototype 4 as mockups for what the game box could contain. This will be given to certain parties who are interested in playing a paper prototype of the game. Most of this will be happening in my hometown, though.

I am very confident about what we have so far. The game looks good! With some of these illustrations, Innomination looks like a real card game... I am so happy to finally show something definitive to people.

UPDATE: 4/26/21

Thanks to all of the artists who have made art for Innomination so far. We are currently hiring for the several cards that still need art. These illustrations will be used for Prototype 4 and will appear on product mock-ups for our Kickstarter fundraising campaign. We are still discovering what range of art styles that best express Innomination's tone, high fantasy setting, seriousness, and quirkiness, so we encourage many artists to apply.

Let us know if you are willing to work on more than one piece. Please be reasonable with your work load.

Learn more by checking our job offer. It includes contact information, budget, and what this card game is.

The due date to apply for this job offer is Sunday, May 2nd, 2021 at 11:59 PM.

Innomination has about 330 unique cards. There are about 50 we've decided that would best represent each Nation in the game for the Kickstarter. Among those, 24 were selected for illustrations. Illustrations may be assigned on a first come, first serve basis, so it is suggested you apply as soon as you are able.

The following subjects need to be illustrated. In parenthesis are the main ideas of the card:

1 Nameless card, Ringer of the Bell (Scenic, Building)

1 Named card, Gargenwar the Destroyer (Undead, Monster)

1 Leader card, Field Marshal Vendrik (Lizardmen, Commander)

UPDATE: 3/9/21

Prototype 4 is under development. Much of the gameplay remains the same. I am attempting to get rid of as many tedious game mechanics as possible and refining the gameplay of what's already here. This has changed little for a lot of the nations. I've written this before, but I'm gonna write it again: Most of what needs fixing in Innomination are numbers, not gameplay and mechanics.

ART

Innomination is going to need a lot of art. It's one of the reasons why I know our Kickstarter goal is going to be pretty high. At current estimate, a little more than half of the Kickstarter asking amount goes to art. Art is expensive. And Innomination has 330 cards that need art.

I'm currently working with artists on acceptable art styles Innomination could have. This art will appear on Prototype 4, so all of you will get to see what kind of art we may have for the first set.

There will be a lot of varying art from handful of artists, so it may seem mismatching. This is an inevitability right now. I don't have the money to hire a concept artist (they are... expensive), so this is what I have to deal with.

Of course, not ALL cards are going to have art. We budgeted for the following:

6 nameless cards, one for each nation

6 named cards, one for each nation

6 Leaders, one for each nation

6 Basic Sources

Of the 330 cards in the game, I picked around 50 cards I feel would do make the best representation of each nation. Then of those 50, 24 were chosen to give to artists who were given a job offer. This process is still on going! As of writing this, I only have 4-5 illustrations.

This step is going to take some time, as some artists are not able to start right away.

The card art made for Prototype 4 may not appear in the final game.

GRAPHIC DESIGN

I have contracted with a graphic designer who is going to make card frames. This is an on-going process and I am excited to be working with the graphic designer I have chosen.

The card frames from the current prototype (3.1) will not survive for the next prototype. Our graphic designer will be creating new card frames. We talked about this at length, including making sure they knew how to play Innomination so they understood the game's information hierarchy.

The card frames for Prototype 4 may not appear in the final game. The ones being made are significantly more concrete than the barebones card frames I made, but what's most important is thinking about what the card frames *could* look like.

I'll let you all know when there's big news again.
