INNOVATION:
Top 3 Global Finalists for the Responsible Seafood Innovation Awards (Aquaculture Category) at 2025 Responsible Seafood Summit in Cartagena, Colombia
Honored to be recognized as one of the Top 3 Global Finalists for the Responsible Seafood Innovation Awards (Aquaculture Category) at the 2025 Responsible Seafood Summit in Cartagena, Colombia.
Being selected from so many remarkable innovations around the world is truly an honor.
Our innovation in early disease detection for shrimp farming is designed to help farmers take action sooner, minimize losses, and strengthen sustainable aquaculture practices.
This recognition reaffirms our belief that early detection drives sustainable production and motivates us to continue developing practical, impactful solutions that make a real difference in the field.
The award is organized by the Global Seafood Alliance (GSA) — a leading non-governmental organization representing major global seafood distributors and suppliers. GSA’s Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) is one of the world’s most trusted third-party certification standards, ensuring that aquaculture operations meet rigorous requirements for food safety, environmental responsibility, social accountability, and animal welfare.
Dr. Jeff Hsu recently discussed the innovative WSSV RP rapid test kit with Dr. Zuridah Merican, Editor/Publisher of Aquaculture APAC, in a special article for Aqua Culture Asia Pacific. During the Vietshrimp show in March in Ca Mau, Innocreate Bioscience showcased this groundbreaking tool designed for the shrimp farming industry.

We are delighted to share the exciting news that the Innocreate Bioscience WSSV RP Rapid Test kit has been registed by the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) General Assembly.
The Innocreate Bioscience WSSV RP Rapid Test kit has achieved a remarkable milestone as the first LFIA rapid test diagnostic kit for aquatic animals approved by WOAH.
With only 14 animal diagnostic kits receiving this recognition in the past 20 years, Innocreate Bioscience WSSV RP Rapid Test kit sets are new standards in aquatic animal health diagnostics.
We are pleased to announce our latest publication.
The sensitivity and specificity test of Innocreate Bioscience WSSV RP rapid test kit - Diagnostic performance of a Rapid Test Kit for white spot syndrome virus (WSSV) on Aquaculture (IF=5.135. Ranked 5/54 in FISHERIES, and 8/113 in MARINE & FRESHWATER BIOLOGY).
Highlights
1. The commercial WSSV RP Rapid Test Kit tested by shrimp and compared with QPCR method shows high sensitivity (99.21%) and specificity (100%).
2. The WSSV RP Rapid Test Kit does not require any equipment, and the test results can be obtained in 15–30 min.
3. This rapid test kit can be transported and stored at room temperature, and the cost is lower than PCR-based tests.
4. This kit can be used to estimate the prevalence of WSSV infection and as an auxiliary tool for epidemiological evaluation.

This study confirmed that Inno A1 derived from the WSSV infectome complex (particularly the VP53A protein) can improve the immunity of shrimp, reduce disease incidence, and does not affect the diversity of the gut microbiota, thus demonstrating that Inno A1 can be applied in aquaculture. Therefore, this study provides a basis for the better application of feed additives to combat pathogens in shrimp aquaculture.

“Innocreate SARS-CoV-2 QD kit” is used in monitoring COVD-19 virus in the sewage system.
The Molecular Biology Laboratory, Seeing Bioscience Co., Ltd. is the only commercial laboratory which provides COVID-19 wastewater surveillance service in Taiwan. Customers include “Taiwan Center for Disease Control (CDC), Construction and Planning Agency, Ministry of Interior and Department of Environment Protection, Taipei City Government”. Seeing Bioscience Co., Ltd. has established a set of methods based on “Innocreate SARS-CoV-2 QD kit” (TFDA EUA) which can detect COVID-19 in the wastewater system, even at low volume of the virus.
The challenge of detecting COVID-19 in wastewater is the occurrence of false negative by the inhibitor and false positive by the complex composition. “Innocreate SARS-CoV-2 QD kit” can detect 3 different virus genes plus a human gene target. The kit has high sensitivity, specificity, and inhibitor tolerance, and could monitor the level of human fecal or assessment inhibition by the human gene target.
The experience worldwide shows wastewater surveillance is a good early warning and monitoring system for COVID-19. “Innocreate SARS-CoV-2 QD kit” can help users obtain precise data within a short timeframe.
We are proud to share that our Covid19 test kit “Innocreate SARS-CoV-2 QD kit” has been approved for manufacturing by Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA)!
Thank you to all friends for your support during this period. We will continue to do our best in fighting this global pandemic together.
Features:
1. Includes 3 viral targets (E, N, RdRP) to reduce occurrence of false-positive or false-negative.
2. Limit of detection (LOD) reaches 2 PFU/ml.
3. Includes Human gene target (RNase P) which can reduce chances of false-negative result by failure in sample collection or sample degradation.
4. The multiplex design can reduce reactions to increase throughput.
5. Testing time is reduced through Fast Mode QPCR, results can be obtained within 50 minutes.
6. Fully validated kit with simplified operations preventing human errors and managing test quality.
