If you want a sleek, low-profile cargo solution with proven Japanese engineering and dual-side access for quick loading on the go, choose INNO Wedge 660; if you need massive storage capacity that sits off the roof to save your car's paint and clear out interior passenger space, choose EYHMAILOE Hitch Mounted Roof.
• Best for boat owners who need reliable, quiet gear transport on long highway drives.
• EYHMAILOE Hitch Mounted Roof: Strength is its sheer 480L capacity and hitch-mount design that keeps weight off the roof rails entirely; trade-off is the lack of side-opening convenience and a bulkier footprint that may limit clearance in tight garages. Best for boat owners needing to haul oversized gear like kayaks or large coolers without sacrificing cabin room.
The INNO Wedge 660 is engineered for the driver who prioritizes aerodynamics, aesthetics, and ease of access above all else. Its defining feature is the dual-side opening mechanism, which allows you to load skis, camping gear, or travel luggage from either side of your vehicle without having to circle around to the trunk. This is a game-changer when you are parked in a narrow spot at a trailhead or a crowded campsite. The wedge shape itself is not just for looks; it is an advanced aerodynamic design that actively reduces wind noise and drag, ensuring a quieter ride even at highway speeds. If you spend a lot of time driving on long-distance trips, this reduction in turbulence translates to less fatigue and a more pleasant experience for everyone inside the cabin.
This box is built using INNO's proprietary SPM Injection Process, which creates a structure that is significantly stronger than conventional vacuum-formed boxes while maintaining a lightweight profile. The result is a hard-shell container that feels premium and durable, developed through decades of Japanese automotive expertise. However, you must have compatible Aero or square bars to mount it, as it relies entirely on your existing roof rack system. This means you will need strong crossbars and careful handling during installation to avoid strain on your vehicle's roof.
Who should buy this? You should buy the INNO Wedge 660 if you are a boat owner who needs to secure fishing rods, life jackets, and smaller tackle boxes while keeping the main deck of your boat clear. It fits perfectly for those who value a clean look and don't want their vehicle to scream "storage truck." Who should skip it? Skip this if you have extremely tall or bulky items like full-size tents, large kayaks, or multiple bicycles that simply won't fit within the 11 cubic feet constraint. It is also not ideal if your vehicle has very weak roof rails, as the 42-pound weight of the box plus your gear requires robust support.

The EYHMAILOE Hitch Mounted Roof addresses a completely different set of problems, primarily focusing on capacity and protecting your vehicle's bodywork. Instead of resting on your roof rails, this carrier mounts directly into your vehicle's hitch receiver. This fundamental difference eliminates the risk of paint damage often associated with drilling or clamping traditional roof boxes. It also frees up your roof rails for other uses or leaves them empty, reducing the overall wind resistance on the top of the car compared to a bulky roof-mounted box. The primary appeal here is the massive 480-liter capacity, which dwarfs the volume of standard roof boxes and can accommodate everything from bicycles and kayaks to large camping sets.
The design explicitly targets the issue of limited original roof space. By moving the storage to the rear hitch, you free up valuable interior passenger space, allowing you to carry people comfortably while still hauling a ton of gear. The unit features a sports-style ABS construction that claims to optimize wind resistance, though the physics of a rear-hung box differ from a roof box. It includes a lockable system designed to secure cargo firmly against theft and stability on bumpy roads. Since it mounts via a hitch, it avoids the complexity of aligning bars across the roof, making installation potentially simpler for those who already own a hitch receiver. However, the lack of side-opening capability means you generally have to open the rear hatch to access your gear, which can be inconvenient if you are parked between two cars.
Who should buy this? You should buy the EYHMAILOE Hitch Mounted Roof if you are a boat owner towing a trailer or carrying a large vessel where every inch of roof space is needed for the boat itself, or if you simply cannot put weight on your roof due to structural concerns. It is perfect for families who need to transport multiple bikes and camping gear without squeezing passengers into the back seat. Who should skip it? Skip this if you do not have a hitch receiver on your vehicle, as it cannot be installed otherwise. It is also less suitable for those who frequently park in tight urban spots where the extended length of a hitch-mounted box might protrude dangerously into traffic lanes or block the rear license plate.
• Best for Aerodynamics and Quiet Driving → INNO Wedge 660. The wedge design is specifically engineered to slice through air, minimizing the wind whistle common with other cargo carriers.
• Best for Maximum Storage Volume → EYHMAILOE Hitch Mounted Roof. With 480 liters, it offers significantly more room than the 11 cubic feet of the INNO, fitting much larger loads.
• Best for Easy Loading Without Moving the Car → INNO Wedge 660. The dual-side opening lets you grab gear from the curb side without walking around the vehicle.
• Best for Protecting Vehicle Paint → EYHMAILOE Hitch Mounted Roof. By avoiding roof clamps and drilling, it eliminates the risk of scratching or damaging your car's finish.
• Best for Clearing Interior Space → EYHMAILOE Hitch Mounted Roof. Moving gear to the hitch leaves the cabin free for passengers, whereas the INNO takes up roof space that doesn't affect the interior but adds weight overhead.
• Best for Long-Term Durability and Engineering → INNO Wedge 660. The SPM injection process and Japanese manufacturing standards suggest a higher tolerance for precision and material consistency.
• Best for Towing and Boat Owners with Limited Roof Access → EYHMAILOE Hitch Mounted Roof. If your boat takes up the whole roof, the hitch option is the only logical choice for extra gear.
• Best for Low Profile Aesthetics → INNO Wedge 660. It hugs the roofline, maintaining the sleek look of your vehicle, while the hitch box adds significant visual bulk to the rear.
After weighing the specifications and real-world utility of both units, I would personally buy the INNO Wedge 660 for my own use. The combination of dual-side access, superior aerodynamics, and the robustness of Japanese engineering makes it the smarter choice for most drivers, including boat owners who need a reliable, quiet, and aesthetically pleasing way to store gear. While the EYHMAILOE offers more volume, the inconvenience of rear-only access and the potential for reduced maneuverability in tight spaces outweighs the capacity benefit for general travel. However, if your specific situation involves hauling massive amounts of gear that physically cannot fit in the INNO, or if you strictly require a hitch mount to preserve your roof, then the EYHMAILOE becomes the necessary tool. For the balance of performance, design, and everyday usability, the INNO Wedge 660 stands out as the superior all-around companion for the road.
