InLook — Privacy Policy
InLook ("the app", "we") is developed by BrightView Studios. This policy explains what data the app handles. We built InLook to be honest, and that includes being clear about data.
No login, no passwords. InLook never asks for your Instagram password and never accesses your Instagram account. You only enter a public username to view.
What we process
Searched username: The public username you enter is sent to our backend service only to fetch that account's publicly available information from Instagram and return it to your device. We do not build advertising profiles from it and do not sell it.
Public profile data: Profiles, posts, stories and similar public content are shown to you and may be cached temporarily on your device to reduce data usage.
On-device data: Your recent searches, the accounts you choose to watch ("Mercek"), profile-change history, and your premium status are stored only on your device (local storage). This data is not uploaded to us.
Analytics: We use Google Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated usage events (e.g., which screens and features are opened) to improve the app. These events do not include the usernames you search.
Notifications: The "Mercek" watch feature periodically checks the public accounts you selected on your device and shows local notifications when they change. This processing happens on your device.
What we do NOT do
We do not collect your passwords, contacts, precise location, photos, or messages.
We do not and cannot show "who viewed your profile" — Instagram never shares this, so we never fake it.
Third parties
Google Firebase / Google Play (analytics and, where applicable, subscription billing). Subscriptions are processed by Google Play; we do not receive your payment details.
Public Instagram data is accessed through our service. InLook is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc.
Data retention & your choices
On-device data is removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall the app.
Analytics data is handled under Google's policies; you can limit it via your device settings.
Changes. We may update this policy; the date above reflects the latest version.
