The Internet and new technologies occupied a central place in our daily lives, making it necessary to promote the use and access to this digital environment for all citizens. The European Union and various administrations of the countries that comprise it promoted the use of ICT by young people as a means to facilitate their inclusion in the workplace and participation in politics. The main goal of our project was to support and promote the use of ICT from a gender perspective. Therefore, we presented a project based on three specific objectives:
Specific Objective 1: Improved the quality of services related to the support of adolescent immigrants by the organizations that were partners of the project. All of this through the exchange of best practices on overcoming gender differences in the use of digital technologies and in accessing the Internet.
Specific Objective 2: Enhanced the skills related to the use of digital technologies from a gender perspective for 20 workers in the youth field.
Specific Objective 3: Promoted the implementation of these best practices by creating a network at the European level. A very important tool for achieving this objective was the development of a web portal with content related to the subject of the project and aimed at the target group.
A training course was developed for youth workers, youth leaders, and volunteers that focused on developing skills regarding the use of digital technologies by adolescent immigrant women and on good practices in gender equality in accessing such technologies. There were 20 participants from the five organizations that made up the consortium. These students informed and raised awareness among workers and volunteers from other organizations about the conclusions and experiences that were gained in the training activity, in addition to the objectives of the project. A total of 200 youth field workers benefited from this activity.
