1. Introduction
Welcome to InkToPixel. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the InkToPixel mobile application ("the App"). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect and How We Use It
To provide you with our core ledger and scanning features, InkToPixel requires access to certain device capabilities and basic personal data:
Account & Financial Data: We collect your email address and a secure password when you create an account. We also store your user-generated financial data (ledger entries, balances). This is strictly used to authenticate you and sync your ledger securely across your devices.
Camera and Storage Data: The App requests access to your device's camera and photo library specifically for our Multimodal OCR Scanner. This allows you to scan physical bills and receipts to automatically extract transaction details.
Microphone and Voice Data: The App requests access to your device's microphone for our Voice Parsing engine. Your voice audio is processed solely for the purpose of converting your spoken transactions into text for your ledger.
Contacts (Phonebook) Data: The App requests access to your device's contacts to allow you to seamlessly select and link existing people to your ledger entries. We do not stealthily upload your entire phonebook to our servers; contact data is only used locally or synced when you explicitly associate a contact with a transaction.
Notifications: The App requests permission to send you push notifications. This is strictly used to provide core app functionality, such as reminding you of upcoming due dates, interest calculations, and payment settlements.
3. Artificial Intelligence Processing
To power our advanced features (the Multimodal OCR Scanner and Voice Parser), the text transcripts of your voice commands and the images you scan are securely transmitted to a third-party Artificial Intelligence provider (Google Gemini API) strictly for processing and extracting ledger data.
4. Third-Party Services
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We do not use third-party advertising networks (like AdMob) or tracking analytics (like Google Analytics) at this time.
We utilize secure, industry-standard third-party service providers to run our core infrastructure:
Supabase: Used for securely hosting our cloud database, managing user authentication, and storing your transaction ledger data.
Google Cloud / Gemini API: Used as our AI processing engine to parse text from scanned images and voice inputs.
5. Data Security
The security of your data is important to us. We use commercially acceptable means, including encrypted cloud databases, to protect your personal information and ledger history. However, remember that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your account data and ledger history for as long as your account remains active. In strict compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, if you do not interact with the App for a continuous period of three (3) years, your personal data will be automatically permanently deleted. You may also manually request instant account deletion from within the App at any time.
7. Children's Privacy
In compliance with Indian law, these Services do not address anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 18, nor do we track or profile minors. If we discover that a user under 18 has provided us with personal data, we will immediately delete that information from our servers.
8. Your Data Rights (DPDP Act Compliance)
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, you have the right to:
Access, correct, update, or erase your personal data.
Withdraw your consent for data processing at any time without affecting the legality of processing based on prior consent.
Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity.
File a formal complaint with the Data Protection Board of India (DPBI) if your grievance is not adequately resolved by us.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your personal data (such as your account profile and ledger entries) only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. You have the right to request the complete deletion of your account and all associated data. To request data deletion, you can email us directly at inktopixel.dev@gmail.com. Please email us with the mail whose data is to delete. Upon request, all personal and financial data will be permanently wiped from our active servers.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. If we introduce new features (such as advertisements or subscriptions), we will update this page. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes.
