Ten years later, to (re)view the (new) Tua valley.

We hope this can be an interesting opportunity to meet again some of the FOZTUA project people and to look at the changes in Tua valley by the new dam (completed).
Unfortunately, this time we have no funding available. We will do our best to keep costs affordable.

20:00 Dinner in (new) Calça Curta restaurant. Sponsored by Anne McCants, MIT Ann F. Friedlaender Chair of History.
22:00 Return to Carrazeda.
28 May, Sunday
9:20 Meeting point in Carrazeda (Industrial Park, Nordestina bus).
9:30 Tour (by bus) around the new lake created by the dam: from Carrazeda to Brunheda, Amieiro, S. Mamede, Foz Tua, Fiolhal, Castanheiro do Norte and back to Carrazeda. We will follow the right side of the river until FozTua dam and then will return by the left side.

By road, it would take around 2 hours. We are adding two extra hours to stop, take photos, and appreciate the changes in the river valley.

17:30 Return to Porto (by car)

Where to sleep:
Some rooms are available in Eduardo and Leonor´s house in Areias (Carrazeda).
In Carrazeda there are several options:
Quintinha do Manel (low cost, but good; a kind of motel/hotel)
A nice new B&B: Village House.
And a new hotel is now available in Carrazeda: Grapple Hotel and Spa
