SGL LAB

The Smart Green Logistics (SGL) Laboratory is a cutting-edge research facility focused on revolutionizing the logistics industry through the integration of smart technologies and sustainable transportation/logistics practices. At its core, the SGL Laboratory seeks to address the challenges facing modern logistics, such as inefficiencies, environmental impact, and the need for innovation.

The SGL focuses on a variety of research related to environmental issues in the fields of transportation and logistics, aiming to shape the future of logistics towards a greener and smarter paradigm.

The SGL’s research area includes
1. Environmental modeling & assessment of greenhouse gases and air pollutions emissions from transportation and logistics sectors
2. Developing effective strategies for introducing electric/autonomous/shared vehicles
3. Developing a state-of-the-art modeling/simulation programs for analyzing complex mobility/logistics activities to provide a platform that facilitates stakeholder participation (citizens/government/industry) and collaborative solution development, based on AI, simulation, and advanced computing technique.

To this aim, the SGL’s research groups utilize emerging technologies, including big-data, machine-learning, artificial intelligence (AI), simulation, statistics, modeling, data visualization/analytics, distributed computing, etc. We are seeking passionate and skilled students and researchers, to engage in meaningful research collaborations.
