Informational text is written to give the reader information about a topic or an event. There are several different ways to write informational text depending on how the author wants to present the information, what information is to be presented and the emphasis placed on different parts of the information.
There are five different types of Informational Text Structures. On this website you will see an example paragraph, the key words associated with the type of structure, and a graphic organizer that will show how the information in the paragraph can be organized visually.
