A presentation of the Ionian University's undergraduate and postgraduate programmes to the 11th and 12th grade students of the Greek-American School of Saint Demetrios.

The occasion was not recruitment in the ordinary sense. Brain drain is a serious problem for Greece, with young scientists and professionals leaving to find opportunities elsewhere; this was an attempt to run the current the other way — to tell the children of the Greek diaspora what higher education at home now offers, and to encourage them to consider it.

The Ionian University's programmes span the humanities and the arts, computer science, environmental studies and tourism, with an emphasis on innovation, research and international collaboration.

The session ended with open discussion, so the students could ask directly.
