Я почув від когось, хто зробив цікавий коментар про Путіна. Що перш за все він мав одну мету щодо України, а саме завоювати цю житницю, бо для нього важлива лише сила. Людські життя йому не в рахунок.

Ik vernam van iemand die een interessante opmerking maakte over Putin. Dat hij vooral een doel voor ogen heefd met betrekking tot uktaine, namelijk, om dit gebied dat de graanschuur was, te veroveren, omdat voor hem alleen macht belangrijk is. Mensenlevens tellen voor hem niet mee.
I heard from someone who made an interesting comment about Putin. That above all he had one goal in mind regarding Uktaine, namely, to conquer this territory that was the breadbasket, because for him only power is important. Human lives don't count for him.

Ukraine was right in the center of the violent chaos following the Russian Revolution 1917. After declaring independence the Ukrainian People's Republic was invaded multiple times as the Russian Civil War, the Polish-Soviet War, the Ukrainian-Polish War and the Soviet-Ukrainian War all raged across the country. The Communist victory in the Russian Civil War meant that the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic became a founding member of the USSR.
