NodeMCU ESP8266

The nodeMCU is a microprocessor which combines a node and a MCU micro-controller into one microprocessor unit. It also implements a Wi-Fi module integrated within the microprocessor which is a useful feature as the project requires IoT implementation and for overall connectivity.

16x2 LCD Display

The 16x2 LCD Display acts as an output device allowing the user to see useful information. It will display the name of the medicine which should be taken at the given time. It is one of the ways by which the user will be notified to take their medication.

DS3231 RTC Module

The DS3231 RTC module is a precise real-time clock module with 32Kbit EEPROM and a built-in 10-bit temperature sensor having a resolution of 0.25C. It is a cruicial component for this project as it will allow precise time tracking for the alarm system.

Servo Motor

The servo motor is a versatile motor that can be used for many purposes. In this project we will use 3 servo motors to open the medicine boxes and to implement the dispenser system. 

10K POT

This device is a potentiometer with a rating of 10K ohms. It is used for various adjustments to parameters like voltage, current, etc. 

Buzzer

A buzzer or beeper is an audio signaling device, which may be mechanical, electromechanical, or piezoelectric. It will act as the main alarm in this project, notifying the user.

Pussh Button

The push button is one of the simplest components available. It is just a simple button that acts as an on or off switch. 3 switches will be used to turn off 3 individual medicine alarms.

10k Resistors

Resistors are an important part of any circuitry. They provide resistance and prevent high voltage to burn components used in the circuit. Here, we will use 3 10k resistors to with the 3 buttons and servo motors.

Zero PCB

The PCB board is the main board where the components will be aligned and connected accordingly. It is simply the base of the project.

Medicine Box

The Medicine Box will hold the medicines accordingly. Each medicine will have their separate box which will open when their prescribed time arrives.
