Infinite Space is a continuous practice in play and freedom.  

Theatre is a natural impulse. Kids naturally play pretend to help them understand the information they are learning about the world. Play is an empathetic, kinesthetic, and collaborative way to learn about the world. When we engage in theatre we are attempting to connect with and understand each other and our personal struggles. What is remarkable is that this isn't just happening with kids playing pretend or in rehearsal rooms; empathetic play happens in a billion small and ordinary moments throughout our lives if we are only present enough to engage with it. 

The work we do at Infinite Space focuses on three main things:

1. Bringing the fundamentals of play and freedom intrinsic to theatre to the average person. Acting work is all about being present in any given situation. Nowadays we are so consumed with our daily to do lists, screens, finances, etc that we lose touch with what it feels like to just be. Our work in the community workshops focuses on connecting people with each other and with the present moment.

2. Creating space for more professional theatre in Huntsville. Theatre is cathartic and necessary in every community. Huntsville is growing quickly and the need for more art is ever present. We are looking to create more space for professional artistry.

Why "Infinite Space"? The concept of the infinite has gripped the human psyche for a very long time. We have attempted to get to the bottom of it through religion, science, philosophy, and art. But still, nothing is conclusive about whether or not infinity exists in the natural world or just logically. What we do know is that the concept of infinity drives us forward. The uncertainty involved with this idea keeps us searching for more, forever pushing forward and rediscovering the boundaries of what we thought the world was. This is also the spirit of theatre: exploring what is unknown to us, always pushing the boundaries of our concept of reality. 

This leads us to our third main goal here at Infinite Space:

3. As a community...explore. Ask questions and work together to solve them. To strive, together, for a more limitless existence. Freedom is in the ever expanding network of connections we find between each other and the universe.
