Get to know the girl behind the camera

Hi guys! I am Madelyn Michels, aka the girl behind the camera! I am based out of Markesan, WI (central WI), but ALSO now in Phoenix, AZ, select times of the year!! I am 19 years old and currently at GCU pursuing a BS in Applied Marketing and Advertising, with a minor in Communications and Social Media. I am a huge family girl, and I love my friends. I am literally always behind the camera every chance I get, and when I'm not, I enjoy tanning and reading (which I do a LOT in AZ). I love working with seniors and making your dream sessions truly come to life in every photo. The cool part is - everyone gets a different editing style, because not everyone is the same. Your pictures are adjusted to who YOU are. You are unique, and your senior photos should reflect that! I also do family sessions, couples, best friends, maternity, and I am open to trying new things! I can't wait to work with every single one of you :)))

My motto has been "for those who see beauty in the in-between"

This means I value the real, honest, and often overlooked moments, not just the perfectly posed ones. I capture the quiet laughs, the soft glances, the way you naturally interact. The in-between moments are often the most meaningful because they feel real and true to who YOU are. It's authentic over perfect, emotion over stiff posing, real connection over forced smiles, and the moments you feel, not just the ones you see!

I have been doing photography for 5 years now and have LOVED every step of the way. I started out doing asphalt racing photos for my cousin just to help him gain sponsors, and I never would've guessed it would turn into a business for me! After that, I transitioned into sports photography, doing HS sports photos for all 4 years of my high school experience. During my senior year, I even ended up doing an internship position at Markesan High School, doing the social media pages and life/sports photography. Around my junior year, I started to get into senior photos and family photos. From there, I just thrived in senior photo environments. There is something so special about capturing those milestones in life. I am also a huge Pinterest girly, so seeing amazing ideas and being able to bring them to life through my seniors is truly so special. Every session, my goal is to make it the senior's "Pinterest board dream session" - and I'd say, I've nailed it. My freshman year at Grand Canyon University, I also got the opportunity to shoot a D1 volleyball game of GCU vs WSU!!
