I studied Mathematics and Computer Science at IST Lisbon as an undergraduate and completed my doctoral studies in Mathematics at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln under the supervision of Luchezar L. Avramov.
I held postdoctoral positions at the University of California-Riverside and at the University of Sheffield where I became interested in Statistics and Health research.
In 2022, I joined the University of Manchester as a Lecturer in Mathematics of Data Science.
