19th INEBRIA Conference | Greensboro, NC | September 28-29th 2023
Optimizing Brief Interventions for a New Era: From Research to Practice and Policy
Pre-Conference Workshops
September 27th
Workshop 1: EU Funding
This presentation on EU funding looks at the recent developments that have taken place with the Horizon Europe funding schema including the financial and widening participation spheres. The targeted approach to future funding calls in the health field, especially those of interest to INEBRIA members, will be given specific consideration. Reference will also be made the NIH and EU Horizon agreements. Finally, specific supports will be referenced.
Workshop 2: MOST
This workshop will introduce INEBRIA researchers to the Multiphase Optimization Strategy (MOST) framework for developing and evaluating interventions. MOST is recognized as an innovative and valuable framework by funding agencies worldwide and can be used to: create more efficient interventions by eliminating ineffective components; identify which combination of components are most effective given a specific set of resources; and systematically improve interventions over time. This workshop will introduce MOST, discuss rigorous and highly efficient experimental designs that can be used to test individual intervention components, and provide several examples of how MOST has been applied to optimize interventions.
