• Entropy and Information  [IMA411, CS1.407] : The course is an elective course and it is designed to give a holistic overview of information theory specifically  from a mathematical and foundational perspective. The course starts with the basic axiomatic ideas of information and measure to quantify information followed by equi-partition theorem associated with source coding. The course also explores stationary stochastic processes, markov processes. In the broader scheme of communication. The course also deals wit  data compression (codes) and channels necessary for communication. Further it moves from the discrete measures to continuous measures discussing principles like maximum entropy principles.
