Biography
Dr. Dong Yoon Park joined the Department of Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineering at Chonnam National University as an associate professor in March 2025. He received his Ph.D. from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 2018 and subsequently held positions as a postdoctoral researcher and research professor at the same institute. He has been working on creating healthy, comfortable, and energy-efficient indoor environments, focusing on thermal comfort, indoor air quality, air-conditioning, ventilation, airborne infection control, and building energy efficiency. His current research explores an intelligent and sustainable indoor environmental management platform that can autonomously optimize the indoor environment by understanding humans and products. His expertise includes indoor environment performance evaluation, bio-sensing adaptive environmental control, and predictive HVAC control in the basis of physics-based and AI-driven methods. As an interdisciplinary scholar and principal investigator, he has contributed to multiple research projects addressing engineering challenges in indoor environments, developing practical and innovative solutions.
