Tuesday action hour

Join old friends, make new ones, and take action together.

Every other Tuesday, 5-6 pm

Indivisible Saint Paul, along with St. Croix Valley Indivisible hosts an action hour masquerading as a happy hour on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month. If you need some motivation and accountability to help you stay on track with the many "Calls to Action", please join us! We will provide the information and scripts to make it easy to call your elected officials (federal, state, and local) and you provide your energy and your own beverage. Drop in for a few minutes or stay for the whole hour. Training and support will be provided.

We typically have 3 or 4 actions each week. A host will introduce a bill or action, will talk about what outcome we're looking for and explain who the key people are that we need to contact. We will provide the contact information and a script to use via phone or email. Then we all go on mute while we make our calls or send out emails. We reconvene when everyone is done and then go to the next action.

If this is your first time joining our Happy (Action) Hour, you can join the Zoom call at 4:45pm for a quick orientation on how all this works (but it's not required).

Bans off our bodies: march for reproductive freedom

Saturday, October 2, 11:00 AM, Minneapolis Sculpture Garden

Indivisible St. Paul is proud to partner with Women's March Minnesota and several reproductive justice groups on "Bans Off Our Bodies: March for Reproductive Freedom"

We need to stop the bans like the one in TX from spreading. Alongside others across the nation, we will march, rally, fight, and be heard. Let’s send a clear message to the Supreme Court and all those who seek to strip citizens of their rights, that reproductive rights are human rights.

Join us on Oct. 2 in Minneapolis. March leaves at 11:00 but arrive early to pick up Bans Off Our Bodies t-shirt (order yours now), available after 10:00 am, find parking, and get ready to march along a .5 accessible route to Loring Park for a rally that starts at noon! Katy Vernon will be providing entertainment as we gather.

Deadline for Democracy: Indivisible MN Statewide Event & Action

June 28, 7:00 pm CT

Register here: https://www.mobilize.us/edinaindivisible/event/398068/?referring_vol=4570353&rname=Edina&share_context=event_details&share_medium=copy_link&fbclid=IwAR1ucsEGz6mOqxvekSil-PBuLKWEVSm7UKVYiUlVFYtvGZyjlXc59XksJCk

We are facing a make-or-break moment for S.1, the For The People Act. We need folks to mobilize like never before to show our senators there is overwhelming grassroots support for voting rights.

Join volunteers from across Minnesota for this kick-off to the nationwide cross-movement effort, Deadline For Democracy. Whatever our color, background or zip code, most of us believe that voters should pick our leaders—our leaders do not get to pick their voters. When it comes to our elections, we want a transparent process we can trust, where Americans have equal freedom to vote, whether we live in a small town or big city, the south or the north. But today, a handful of extremist politicians have put up barriers to silence our voices based on what we look like or where we live.

Join us on zoom on June 28th at 7pm CT to hear from Minnesota leaders in voting rights protections:

SPEAKERS:

ANNASTACIA BELLADONNA-CARRERA Executive Director, Common Cause MN

RICHARD CARLBOM Campaign Manager, Rep. Dean Phillips

TOMMY WALKER, Policy Director, U.S. Senate Committee on Rules & Administration

KIERAN McCARNEY State Director, Sen. Klobuchar

SCOTT ICKES Senior Regional Organizer - MN, Indivisible

PLUS: a text & tweet action at the end to make our voices heard in Wash. DC.

We will cover: • why S1: the For The People Act is instrumental to the future of voting and democracy in America

• what is happening in the Senate and who the key players are

• what WE can do right now during the senate recess to pressure our representatives to get S1 passed!

It’s time for national standards for voting so all of us have a say in key decisions like affordable care, quality jobs, and a healthy future. Together we can make an impact.

Wednesday, July 7, 2021

Democracy is on the line and we need to lift up our voices and demand that the For the People Act passes, even if it takes reforming or getting rid of the filibuster to do it!

It's a party so of course there will be cupcakes and party hats. If you're up for it, wear your party gear, bring your best democracy sign and wear blue!

5:00 to 6:00PM Bridge Brigades Next, we will make our support of The For the People Act visible around the Twin Cities by bringing our energy, banners and signs to five different bridges around the Twin Cities. 07.01.2021 - Speak Out Against Line 3!

Thursday, July 1, 5 to 6 pm CT, Lake Street/Marshall Ave Bridge

Please join Indivisible Saint Paul on Thursday, July 1 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm at the Lake Street/Marshall Bridge.

Bring your most creative signs and your friends. Please wear a mask, stay socially distant and be courteous to the neighbors by staying on the sidewalk and using care when parking in the neighborhood.

No need to RSVP, just show up! Questions, email: indivisiblesaintpaul@gmail.com

On November 30, 2020 Minnesota regulators granted final approval to Enbridge so they could proceed on construction of the controversial Line 3 pipeline, which would carry environmentally-destructive tar sands crude oil across northern Minnesota. At that time, the Governor's response was, “This project has had the most extensive review in Minnesota history.” He said his position all along has been that the state needed to follow the regulatory process, the law, and the science.

Since that time, Governor Walz has remained silent as construction has proceeded, Water Protectors have been arrested and harassed, and our environment has been threatened.

The Governor and Lt. Governor play a critical role in protecting all Minnesotans from the direct and indirect impacts of this project, which will affect many generations after us.

The latest reports on the climate impact of carbon emissions are increasingly grim. Most research indicates we have only 10 years to mitigate the effects of climate change. The time to act is now.

Walz and Flanagan must be true climate leaders for Minnesota. We don't need more fossil fuel pipelines that threaten water, climate, and Indigenous rights. Instead, we need to invest in renewable energy solutions that will safeguard the planet now and for future generations.

Join us to demand that Governor Walz, Lt. Governor Flanagan, and President Biden do everything in their power to stop the Line 3 tar sands pipeline from being built. Demand they act as champions for our climate, water, and treaty rights.

04.14.2021 - Line 3: Minnesota and the Climate Crisis

Wednesday, April 14, 6:30 pm CT

Join our friends at Edina Indivisible for Line 3: Minnesota and the Climate Crisis.

In January, President Biden cancelled the permits for the Keystone XL pipeline. But here in northern Minnesota Canadian oil company Enbridge is racing to put the Line 3 pipeline in the ground, violating Treaty Rights, threatening the Mississippi, and locking our state into decades of greenhouse gas pollution.

We'll get the facts and hear the stories surrounding Line3. And we'll learn what we as Minnesotans can still do to stop it and pivot with urgency toward renewable energy jobs and infrastructure.

Special Guest Speaker: Rita Chamblin, the Bemidji Liaison with MN Interfaith Power and Light.

Hosted by Edina Indivisible, Indivisible Eden Prairie, Plymouth Area Indivisible, Indivisible MN03
