Marissa Monét (Founder & Owner)-- I have been practicing spirituality and divination since I was 12 years old. In my years of practice, I have learned many different kinds of spirituality including: my own family's cultural traditions in the spirituality of the African diaspora, hoodoo and traditional indigenous medicines. I am also versed in celtic & norse traditions, along with magicks related to modern day wicca, and some traditional asian medicines. 

I started Indigo Child as an extension of myself and my growth as a spiritual practitioner. I wanted to create a space in my community where people of all walks of spirituality have a safe space to learn the cultural traditions of their people RESPECTFULLY, and away from judgment. A space where myself and others can explore what practices they are drawn to without defaulting to the hype of the “trendy witch” movement of social media. My goal is to learn all that I can in metaphysics and share that growth and knowledge with my community.

The term "indigo child" is defined as children who are believed to possess special, unusual, and sometimes supernatural traits or abilities. Many of the traits of these children are defined as: extreme empathic, sensitive, a high level of intuition and psychic ability, an innate spirituality, a deep desire to help the world, a special bond with animals and nature, stubbornness, a feeling of being an outsider as well as the overall knowingness that you are unique and are meant to do big things.

While all of these things are true for me, I chose the name Indigo Child for other reasons as well. Indigo is the chakra colour associated your throat and third eye. These are the prized chakras of an Aquarius like me! I thrive on the creative energy my third eye grants me and it's been a dream of mine to share that creativity with all of you.
