Students are allowed to apply to one or more departments. All departments are low-commitment and no experience is necessary to apply.

Art is responsible for the artwork in the yearbook! Members will draw and design dividers, backgrounds, and headers which are published in the yearbook. We also design the Indicator merch every year! Throughout the year, we will have periodic meetings to discuss design ideas, but everyone mostly works independently. We welcome both traditional and digital artists!

Business is responsible for raising funds to alleviate the financial burden on students. The department holds bake sales during parent-teacher conferences and concerts, flower sales during the holidays, and spirit days intermittently throughout the year. Member responsibilities will range from baking to selling teddy bears to dethorning flowers.

Circulation is responsible for promoting senior spirit days and events and Indicator fundraisers through creative and eye-catching posters. The department manages Indicator's social media accounts and spreads awareness of events through hallway posters. Members of the Circulation Department will be responsible for designing the posters and also putting them up around the school.

Copy is responsible for collecting and inputting senior quotes, inputting baby pictures and personal information, and proofreading various parts of the yearbook. We are looking for people who are responsible, organized, respond to emails quickly, and can complete their assignments in a timely fashion. You should also be comfortable reaching out to seniors in-person or over text.

Layout is responsible for formatting the entire yearbook, from athletic pages to spirit days! We use an online platform, HJE Design, to lay out different pages of the yearbook. There are a variety of sections, each replete with interesting design features. You can choose to lay out pages dedicated to your favorite extracurricular activities, your favorite department's teachers, or your favorite sports and dance teams.

Literary is responsible for writing the blurbs that appear in the yearbook, typically about the various academic departments, special Senior days, and school staff. This is a low-commitment department, so don't worry if you don't have that much time outside of school. Blurbs are usually written at your convenience and take less than 30 minutes.

Photos is responsible for taking candids, faculty portraits, club photos, and senior spirit day photos! You will also attend sports games to capture action shots and take team photos! Your work will not only be published in the yearbook but will also be an essential part of highlighting some unforgettable moments from the last year of our Seniors. Through Indicator Photo, you can improve your photography skills as well.
