My Story
Boxing has been one of the most influential forces in my life. Following a traumatic brain injury, boxing provided me with structure, purpose, and a path forward during difficult times. Through training, I discovered not only physical strength but also improved focus, discipline, confidence, and resilience. Those experiences shaped my belief that boxing can be much more than a sport—it can be a powerful tool for personal growth and recovery.
Today, my goal is to share those benefits with others by creating opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to improve their health, develop life skills, and reach their full potential.
Indiana Rain Boxing & Science provides coaching backed by USA Boxing Green Level Coach certification.
USA Boxing coach education goes beyond knowing how to box. It provides coaches with structured education around athlete development, boxing fundamentals, training practices, safety, and the responsibilities that come with coaching athletes.
For our gym, this certification represents a commitment to teaching boxing through an established coaching system rather than simply relying on personal boxing experience.
Our goal is to combine real-world boxing knowledge with continued education so athletes receive structured, responsible, and purposeful coaching as they develop.
Training is only part of athletic development. Nutrition, hydration, recovery, and fueling the body properly also influence how an athlete performs and responds to training.
Our USA Boxing nutrition education helps us better understand the nutritional needs of athletes and incorporate those principles into conversations about training and performance.
We use this knowledge to promote healthier approaches to fueling, hydration, recovery, and weight management while recognizing the appropriate boundaries between sports nutrition education and individualized medical or dietary care.
The objective is simple: help athletes better understand how what they do outside the gym can support the work they perform inside it.
Boxing requires more than punching ability. Athletes depend on strength, balance, coordination, mobility, endurance, speed, and explosive movement.
Our Strength & Conditioning certification supports the way Indiana Rain Boxing & Science builds physical development into boxing training.
Strength and conditioning exercises are selected with a purpose: developing the physical qualities that support boxing performance while helping athletes build better movement patterns and overall conditioning.
This allows us to connect traditional boxing instruction with a broader approach to athletic development—training the boxer as an athlete, not just training the punch.
