Independent Lifestyle Opportunities (ILO) is a community-based organization that provides support to health care providers and the individuals that they serve. To ensure that the members of the public receive the appropriate care and the right information about disease prevention and treatment, the health care providers should provide them with the right information. Many health care conditions should be addressed in the community for the wellbeing of the population to improve. The health education and training will be undertaken by qualified health nurse educators. the nurse will be vested with the responsibility of applying evidence-based best practices during training on the community members on the appropriate ways of preventing the spread of diseases. Through training, the community members will build confidence, determination and have basic life skills that will allow them to manage their health issues effectively.
SERVICES
ILO provides job skills training including resume writing, CPR first aid training, mental health first aid training, Independent living skills training. The key areas that will be addressed by the organization include training of the community members on how to effectively prevent the spread of communicable diseases and lifestyle diseases. Besides, the community members will be involved in project activities that are aimed at improving the wellbeing of the community such as engaging in physical exercises and adopting a healthy diet that will help them avoid lifestyle diseases. The ILO will also train members of the community on first aid and mental health. Mental health will be emphasized mainly because the effects of COVID-19 have affected a number of people because some have lost their lives while others have lost their employment. In the long run, the programs of the project will immensely help improve the well-being of the community members.
