I am currently a Karles Fellow at The Naval Research Laboratory. My research interests are in verification of autonomous systems, collaborative behavior, and scalability of algorithms. My current project, is investigating the reliability and robustness of algorithms for multi-agent teams and swarm behaviors using mixed reality. I finished my M.S. in Robotics at the University of Michigan in 2018, and B.A. in Computer Science and Mathematics at Colby College in 2016. When I am not dealing with misbehaving robots, I can be found cooking, knitting, or at the beach / on a hike.
This is Marwa ElDiwiny, I am hosting IEEE RAS Soft Robotics Podcast, and currently PhD researcher at Vrije Universiteit Brussel where I am working on designing Self-healing Soft Robotics. I am very passionate about connecting with people’ thoughts and ideas from different backgrounds and cultures. Before being involved soft robotics field, I worked on Anti-stealth technology for safe piloting of UAVs. Aside from research, I draw female characters in a few seconds, I am a crazy cat lover and avid traveller.
