๐ Highlanders Welcome May! Happy Spring!
What a weekend! Star Follies was a hitโhopefully you were able to catch one of the five shows. It was such a joy to see so many of our students shine on stage, and even a few familiar faces from our own team! Bri Barrazza from the counseling office absolutely rocked, and registrar Alma Brubaker, alongside her husband Doug, brought down the house. Just wowโwhat a show!
I also loved seeing our own Theater Tech team, led by Mrs. Taves and her incredibly talented students, run the entire production. Their professionalism and behind-the-scenes expertise truly made the show come to life. We are so proud of their work. Congratulations to the Incline Education Fund and the entire Star Follies team for another incredible event. I attended the late show on Friday night and Iโm still smiling.
We also celebrated Senior Days out at the baseball and softball fields, as well as at the poolโa special time to honor this outstanding group of students.
In the final dual meet of the season, our girls swim team earned a strong victory over North Tahoe High School. Katie Ferrall led the charge with a standout swim in the 200 freestyle, dropping nearly 13 seconds to secure a first-place finish among 3A competitors. In the 200 individual medley, Elizabeth Hansen cut more than six seconds from her time, while Darya Kuznetsova and Ashley Siminov also posted impressive improvements.
The 100 freestyle showcased Inclineโs depth, with Haddie Rudd, Elizabeth Hansen, and Darya Kuznetsova sweeping the top three spots among 3A swimmers. Justine Daniel added a strong fifth-place finish, and Sofia Groza rounded out the group in eighth. Notably, every one of these athletes recorded personal best timesโa true reflection of the teamโs growth and preparation.
On the boysโ side, Grant Safford delivered strong swims, achieving personal bests in both the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke. His continued improvement strengthens his seeding heading into regionals.
We are proud to have 13 athletes representing Incline at the Regional Meet next weekend in Renoโweโll be cheering them on all the way!
Over the next two weeks, we are jumping into AP testing. Please help your scholar be at their best by ensuring they get a good nightโs sleep and start the day with a healthy breakfast. Many of our teachers are generously hosting breakfast or snack gatherings before examsโyour scholar should know which teachers are offering these pre-test opportunities.
This week is also Staff Appreciation Week, and we extend a heartfelt thank you to the families who have contributed to making this such a special time. Your generosity helps us celebrate a staff that is deeply dedicated to our students each and every day.
Seniors, we have many exciting end-of-year events just around the corner. Please continue to attend class and stay engaged so you are eligible to participate in all of the celebrations ahead.
We also want to be very clear: activities such as โSenior Assassinโ are not supported by Incline High School or local law enforcement. We encourage our seniors to think about how they want to leave a positive and lasting legacy. โSenior pranksโ are not permitted. Participation in these types of activities may result in serious consequences, including criminal charges and the loss of the privilege to participate in graduation ceremonies.
Finally, please remember to report the total value of all scholarship offers you have received (from all institutions). We look forward to celebrating and sharing with our community the incredible scholarship achievements of this graduating class.
A few important reminders for this week and next:
Live link for family members unable to attend our graduation, they can watch the ceremony live.ย Incline HS: 6-15-2026 https://youtube.com/live/Iq_2YwE5urY?feature=share
Prom tickets are still on sale during lunch outside the cafeteria every Thursday and Friday. Students must have 90 percent positive attendance to attend (appeal form: Incline High School - Appeal Form (Chronically Absent) โ Fill out form )
AP Seminar (sophomores) and AP Research (juniors) are finishing up their presentations of oral defense this week. Please support your AP Capstone students and teachers thru these important assessments.

๐ข ATTENDANCE MATTERS! ๐ข
๐จ Did you know a student is considered CHRONICALLY ABSENT if they've missed 10% of these days?
๐ That's 18 days in the academic year! However, if you are absent 2 days a month you're on track to be chronically absent.
๐ฉบ 3 Exceptions that are EXEMPT from the 10% rule:
โ Doctor's note (Medical, Mental, or Behavioral Health Professional)
โ Religious Absence
โ Our school nurse can verify illness and send a student home (fever, vomiting, etc.)
How does it impact a student?ย
Students that are chronically absent will not have their DMV attendance verification forms signed to receive their driving permits.ย
Students that are chronically absent will not be able to attend dances (Homecoming, Prom, etc.). You can file an appeal with administration for extenuating circumstances (funeral, court, etc.): https://forms.office.com/r/QEDKwHEcBxย ย
Want a senior parking spot? Spots will go to students that are not chronically absent in ranking order.ย
You miss 88 minutes of classroom instruction each class period.ย This cannot be duplicated and causes stress for students.ย
๐TARDIES
Students exceeding 11 unexcused tardies in a quarter, will lose their off-campus privileges. Students that lose their off-campus privileges will be required to check in with our Assistant Principal Mr. Culbert in the lunchroom at the beginning of the lunch period and at the end.
Let's strive for excellent attendance! ๐๐ฉโ๐ซ๐จโ๐ซ

๐ Weโre proud to celebrate a big win for our Highlander community! ๐
Incline High School has earned a place on the APยฎ School Honor Roll for the 2024โ25 school year! ๐ ๐
This recognition highlights the outstanding work of our teachers, counselors, and staff in expanding access to AP courses and supporting students on a pathway to college success. At IHS, we believe in opening doors, raising expectations, and empowering students to challenge themselves with rigorous, college-level learning.
Research consistently shows that students who take AP courses are more likely to attend college, persist, and graduate on timeโand we see that impact every day in our classrooms. Whether students earn college credit or simply build confidence through advanced coursework, AP plays a powerful role in creating a strong college-going culture at Incline High School.
๐ Huge congratulations to our students for stepping up to the challenge and to our educators for their dedication and commitment to excellence.
