Inbound Asteroid is a fun, free Amazon Alexa skill and Google Assistant action that tells you what asteroid, comet, meteor, or other near-earth object is closest to the Earth any day of the year! Once Inbound Asteroid is added to your Amazon account, you can open it with phrases like "Alexa, ask Inbound Asteroid what's nearby" and "Alexa, tell Inbound Asteroid to find comets on February 9th, 1986" (Halley's Comet). Alexa will respond with information about the near-earth object including its official name and approximate diameter as well as how many nearby objects there are and whether any are considered hazardous. Google Assistant responds to the same phrases, such as "Ok Google, tell Inbound Asteroid to find comets on February 9th, 1986"!
Inbound Asteroid uses the NASA NEO API for source data.
