Manuals, objectives, standards, IEPs, 504s, and directives drive every lesson. Once a school year begins the ability to add any new techniques becomes difficult. Training happens in short spurts. A day here, and a half day there, then only a night before the expectations of implementing the "new" technique into each lesson are required.

Time is important to many professions. Time is crucial to educators. The more time educators can get away from planning, they can spend quality time reaching students. Technology can help educators make sure students have engaging lessons, adapt those lessons to their learning styles, and help to make connections to real world applications.

LMS- Learning Management Systems
The title of this section is somewhat deceptive on my site. My personal experience in the elementary classroom is with the LMS Google Classroom. Others such as Clever, Canvas, Moodle, and all of the others depended upon what graduate course and what institution I was enrolled in. Note that my source links and my suggestions will at this time be strictly linked to Google Classroom. Does this mean the suggestions are only Google Classroom based, not necessarily, most good LMS programs will have similar traits just slightly different ways of using them.

Many of today's educators were raised with the television programs that focused on children were first created. Seseme Street, Mr. Rogers, and many others began their broadcasts in our childhood. For our younger co-workers, Nickelodean, the Disney Channel, and more PBS (Public Broadcasting System) works became the staple of every day life. Screens have become part of every child's life. Screens of all size. Too much of anything is never good. A balance of ways to get information across to students should be the model.

I suggest that creating videos for the classroom should be used along side of live teacher directions. The use of videos to run while a teacher is preparing an activity and keeping the students engaged is a good strategy. Creating videos for those directions that need to be repeated before a lesson, or those that demonstrate a technique that was already shown in a live model, is also a wise choice. Not all videos have to be teacher created. Having students demonstrate how-to is also a powerful tool.
