MetaMask does not use a traditional username-and-password website login. Instead, users access their wallet through the MetaMask browser extension or compatible MetaMask application.
Open the official MetaMask extension in your browser.
Select the option to unlock your wallet.
Enter your wallet password locally when prompted.
Review your account and wallet information.
Connect to a trusted Web3 application when needed.
Carefully review any transaction or connection request before approving it.
Your Secret Recovery Phrase is the most important backup for your wallet. Keep it private and store it securely offline. Never provide it to another person or enter it into a website claiming to offer MetaMask login or verification.
MetaMask support will not need your Secret Recovery Phrase to unlock or verify your wallet.
Be cautious of websites that imitate MetaMask and request your recovery phrase, private key, or wallet password. A legitimate MetaMask wallet should be accessed through the official extension or application.
Before signing a transaction or connecting to a dApp, verify the website and carefully review the requested permissions.
If you cannot unlock MetaMask, make sure you are using the correct wallet password for that installation. If the password is forgotten, wallet recovery requires the correct Secret Recovery Phrase. Never use a recovery phrase supplied by another person.
Important: Keep your Secret Recovery Phrase private, verify Web3 websites before connecting, and carefully review every transaction before approving it.
