Swati Upadhyay is a public health researcher, storyteller, and former physician from India, now based in the U.S. Her work sits at the intersection of environmental health, justice, and community power — but her heart lives in stories.
After pivoting from clinical medicine to public health, Swati found herself navigating unfamiliar systems, cultural shifts, and deep questions of identity. Along the way, she met women whose strength, softness, and stories changed her — and this podcast is her way of honoring them.
In Her Element was born from her belief that women, especially immigrants, women of color, and those in science and creative fields who deserve spaces where they’re heard, held, and celebrated in all their complexity.
Swati’s mission is simple: to create a soft, powerful space where women can show up as they are, and be reminded that they are never alone.
