Has degrees in Data Processing (1989) and Physics (1999), a Master's in Physics Applied to Medicine and Biology (2002) and a PhD in Medicine (2007). He has been a professor at the State University of Santa Cruz (UESC) since 2008, head of the Modeling and Immersive Technologies Laboratory (MTILab) and Vice-Director of the Center for Research in Radiation Sciences and Technologies (CPqCTR). He is a permanent member and current coordinator of the Graduate Program in Computational Modeling in Science and Technology (PPGMC/UESC), where he supervises master's and doctoral students in immersive technologies and analysis of biological signals and medical images. He participates as UESC's institutional representative at INCITE in Industry 4.0.
Head of the scientific and technological cooperation network Institute for Science, Innovation, and Technology for Industry 4.0 (INCITE INDÚSTRIA 4.0) and the Extended Reality Lab for Industrial Innovation and Sustainable Production (XRIISP Lab). Currently, she is the Coordinating Professor of the NVIDIA AI Tech Center (CIMATEC NVAITC) and Coordinator of the Master's and PhD programs in Industrial Management and Technology (PPG GETEC) at CIMATEC. She has led over 40 applied research projects with major players such as FORD, Continental, HP, EMBRAER, Petrobras and SHELL, publishing 42 articles, 3 books, 19 book chapters, and more than 50 technical production assets, including one granted patent and 10 filed patents. She has supervised 19 PhD and Master's graduates, many of whom are industry collaborators with international co-supervision. She is a mentor on the Digital Transformation Committee of SAE Brazil and an advisor to the Singaporean startup CHiLX.

Obtained his first and MSc degrees in mechanical engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon (IPL). He received his PhD in mechanical engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon (IST/UL) in 2015, having developed research work in the field of deterministic and stochastic model updating in structural dynamics.
Tiago is now Assistant Professor at NOVA University of Lisbon (School of Sciences and Technology) at the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (DEMI NOVA) in the group of Structural Mechanics. He is researcher at the Research and Development Unit for Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (UNIDEMI). His research interests are focused on, but not limited to, topics in structural dynamics, machinery health monitoring, and XR applications to industrial problems.
